can this series just not end

FWF, I think we all would love another dear FWF series.
It's been great and really dislike that it has ended!
I really think I'd snapcall on river with AQ high... that type of small raise on turn vs a 60% turn bet is soooo often a pure bluff trying to look strong.
And he would checkback hands like 22 33 44 A5 77 88 whatever, hoping that you have something like busted flush draw or AQ high.
I mean the way it was played on the turn.
I'd def just shove on turn with the AQ with that stupid small raise he did on turn.
More please.

it's not like he should be bluffing hero often at all: hero called a 4-bet and bet that flop. raising here is insanely -EV
Thing is with the potsize I REALLY REALLY REALLY dont expect our opponent to think we dont shove with stuff like AJ or JT like you said or any better. Since his raise intentionally gives the illusion like he's committing but at the same time is giving a good price for a queen or flush draw, I dont think he thinks we're ever calling here with a made hand to checkcall an induce a bluff.
I think what he thinks is we dont have a made hand, and that we most likely have a draw that doesnt contain a pair. So by shoving turn basically he's almost ONLY representing KQ, while I think our hand is usually pretty face up as a queen with no pair or a busted flush draw of some sort.
I really think if we think he's bluffing a LOT on the turn (which I actually do think here, that's why i would also call river obv), we should just shove 4th street. Because this line looks very very very face up to me.
ps: Enjoyed all the episodes, thanks.
in my 2nd paragraph I meant (...)by raising turn. Not shoving.
wow, i just joined this site, this series is amazing. FWF is such a good instructor.
+1 for more series like this. anything that breaks stuff down in-depth is excellent on this site.
Hi fwf, I really liked your series. I have a question to the AQ hand at around 20 mins where we lead the turn for 600 and villain raises our bet. We are getting 3.8 on our call with about 900 left to go in on the river and we are out of position. You say we are getting great odds to all, but assuming we have 8 clean outs to the straight we'd be about breaking even if we could stack him every time we hit, which isn't very likely oop. Is your assumption that overcards are good here x perecent of the time and that when we call the turn he would give up on the river aswell x percentage of the time and we'll have the best hand? Otherwise I don't see how we can make the call.

yep, that's about it.
I think everyone is in agreement and hope that this series continues in the next season or something very similar. This series has taught me so much about how to think about poker that I am very thankful.
More please.
I think every season there should be a slot dedicated to a dear deuces coach. Also there should be late night coaching each season IMO.
Awesome series! I too, vote for a similar program-series in the future.
I've got a question about the math in the AQ 5bet shove situation.
Pokerstove says we've got 30% equity against his calling range. I would normally calculate my EV when called like this:
EV= equity x total pot- what I put in
Rounding off the numbers, effective stacks are 2900. He raises, we 3bet to 210 and he 4bets to 540. When we shove we put in 2690.
So our EV= (0.3x 5800) – 2690= -950
Another way would be:
30% of the time we win his stack and the pot, 70% of the time we lose what we put in, or:
0.3(2360+540+210) – 0.7(2690)= -950
The same result, as we would expect.
You use this method:
we have 30% equity, he has 70% equity, so we're losing 70-30= 40cents on every dollar which we put on the pot.
So EV= -2690x0.4= -1076
Your method seems intuitively correct yet gives a different answer to the other methods.
Obvioulsy the difference is small and has no practical bearing on this situation (I.e the shove with AQ is good), but why do we get different results?
Loved the series BTW.
only watched hu vids but this series has been the must helpful to me. he breaks down an explains his thought process excellent. thanks for the time an effort you put into this fwf. kudos!
