What's the reason for only betting half pot with the set of fours?

I'm pretty sure I was betting 1/2 pot as my c-bet size occasionally in the match, and because he is a very observant opponent, it's important for me to use that sizing with w/ v strong hands as well. I might of had a read that he played back more often when I did that as well, although I can't be sure.

In general though, good players often interpret smaller bets as weak, so even without any history a smaller c-bet size there has merit.

Thanks bro, really appreciate that. I try to balance this kinda thing to make as many ppl content as possible. Not to worry tho, my natural tendency is to ramble on forever, so your learning style wins out more often than not.
