Xorbie's voice is all stuffed up for me, it sounds all 'computerised' and I can't really understand what he's saying. Rest of audio is
fine though. Any chance this could get fixed? Would really love to understand everything thats being said ![]()

Most of his audio is fine (from what I can hear, listening to the WMV now) but I can definitely hear moments where it gets digitized. This is from his connection+Skype settings so there's no way to fix it in post-production unfortunately -- what you hear is the same thing Krantz would have heard in his Skype conversation with Xorbie.

Hey
So x_volta is xorbie who played dogishead in his duel?

Yep, he posted in that thread if you read carefully. ![]()

It's what happens when Skype craps out, usually internet connection related.

Couldn't everybody talking record what they're saying locally and then combine that in postproduction with the video, instead of just taking the Skype recording? Though I've not really had any problems with sound quality before.

nakke,
It'd be a nightmare to try to sync up recordings like that after the fact, let alone to try to organize the recordings and to try to make sure that all files end up in a way that work well together (I speak from experience; I've tried this before and have spent literally a full day trying to produce one hour of video, only to have it still come up out of sync). Unfortunately when VOIP is involved, there are always going to be some small issues when the connection is dropped -- 99% of the time things work out really well with Pamela/Prettymay+Skype but occasionally there are issues like these.
Keep in mind that what you hear here is what Jay was hearing during the conversation. Usually Skype doesn't have this problem, though there's been some digitization in some of the calls. I'm going to have everyone move up to version 3.8 (newest beta of Skype) which supposedly has fixed a lot of these issues and test it out some more. I've also been experimenting with other programs like Gizmo and Ventrilo, but unfortunately the interfaces or call quality for everything else just doesn't compare to Skype.
Lots of the videos you see have been recorded with the same software you see in this one, so while I'm not 100% happy with how this one turned out it's definitely not enough of a problem given how many other videos we've produced using the exact same combo, so until something drastically better comes along we'll be sticking with this format but keeping a closer eye on it.

The discussion in this vid between you two is sooooo goooood. Hearing two good players talking about concepts just allows me to learn to think about the game better. Videos like this one and the one you had with duck where you are HU against eric are easily some of my fav videos and styles.
how does the rake effect opening every button, is it worth it at say 50nl or 100nl?
Entity: sheesh, didn't think syncing would be that cumbersome! Then things like this are definitely acceptable, especially when it's not common at all.
You do a great job at postproducing these videos, thumbs up for that ![]()
This vid Rocks !!! xorbies audio is little annoying sometimes but wow what a vid, really looking forward to the next vid like this!!
xorbie and krantz you rock!!
Well if anyone has questions about what I was saying at specific points just post them, I could probably just type it out somewhat accurately.
