awesome intro, but somehow light video. single tabling the last 15-20 minutes was kind of boring.
at least play 2 tables if you time out playing 4 .. or talk strategy non-stop (I would shove the following range in his spot .. I would need this and that to call etc.). but watching one table with lots of silence or basketball talk isn't that great ![]()
btw: did I hear it right that you were planning on getting 20-30 step 2 tickets and going from there? I'm curious about the chances of making it with 30 step 2 tickets. let's say you move up a step 30% of the time, that would get you a single step 5 ticket.
anyway. looking forward to the next episode. I hope you guys make it!
EPIC INTRO

Yeah, I definitely wasn't happy with the content but that's one of the downsides to doing live vids. Sometimes there's just not enough interesting content or the times work out that adding another table would lengthen the vid by 45 min or so. I'll do my best to make sure there's more content in future vids.
since FTP also has introduced steps now .. would it be better to play on FTP? I guess it will take some time for the higher steps to get filled with the same regs, no? Also having rakeback might make them a bit more profitable than on stars.
Yeah I think a episode dealing w/ different site structures such as UB,FT,and Cake would be really interesting.
I like how you wait until he makes his decisions to talk about what you would do.
I think there are too many people that blur the 1 person to a hand rule and Im glad to see someone who sticks to it.
Great intro I was only joking when I suggested this song last week, big ups to u guys for running w/ it. Whenever I hear step by step that song pops into my head. If I win a steps package now I know what song I will celebrate w/ FTW. Now the only question is Bones did did u already have that song in your personal collection?
lol

When I did a steps vid last year, I decided that if I ever got to do another step vid I would try to get that song in the intro. We actually wrote up the intro before the series started and just had some delays with it, but pretty cool that you were on the same page as well.
cool cool great series so far keep em coming.
Semi-off-topic, but hopefully of interest, I love to collect examples of people butchering extreme ICM situations in multiseat sats. And even though this series is probably all about NLHE, the NLO8 ones are pretty profitable too:

For context, I've been sitting on my 14xbb stack watching SB shove maybe once an orbit since it got down to three-handed. And I'm thinking to myself, "Buddy, this is all going to go terribly awry when he decides to call you with KK or QQ, and I'm going to be the beneficiary."
Now, in Omaha/8 even more than in hold 'em, for the deep stack to call with KK** is absolutely atrocious. First of all, he's not even ahead of a 33% range:
ProPokerTools Omaha Hi/Lo Simulation

KhKdQs7c 42.10% (185,901 scoops, 315,544 wins hi, 4,203 ties hi, 0 wins lo, 0 ties lo)
Top 33% range 57.90% (280,253 scoops, 280,253 wins hi, 4,203 ties hi, 285,026 wins lo, 0 ties lo)
As bones has discussed, the equity he stands to gain if he scoops is minimal. But almost half the time he gets scooped and falls into a tie with me, having to fight for his Step 2 ticket instead of coasting to it.
As it happened, it was Shovebot who got hurt here. But this is a great example why, if you understand ICM and want to learn big-bet Omaha-8, the 500 FPPs are just wonderful.
