did you have any strict rules on bankroll size with regards to moving up or down in stakes?
Entity is on the road in this session and continues the $1/2 6max LHE grind. This time he has his HUD to help him out but it is a long long road . . . . to robusto!
In this archived series (originally airing in early 2007), Entity shows how to rebuild your bankroll and walks through important concepts as you move up in limits. Lots of discussion about bankroll management, getting started in Limit Hold'em, and basics to improve your game.

Let me first say that I'm a big fan of this series, Entity.
Now, to my question. Would this turn be a good spot to check to induce? I think this player type would be good for this play. If we bet there's a good chance villain will fold junk or overcards, where as if we check I think villain bluffs with that exact range - often 2 streets. Now when villain has a pair or better I think he at least calls if we bet, but will also bet always if checked to. I think we can even get in a river check-raise after check-calling the turn, if the river comes relatively safe.
Thoughts?

Given the fact that the limper openlimped, I don't think checking to induce is a viable strategy -- he'll often have a hand like QJ that won't bet, so it's not ideal to be checking.

I didn't have any strict rules -- I think at the time I was looking to move up when I had 300BB but I was only taking shots, so if I ran bad in a shot I'd move back down. Generally speaking for non-pros I think you can have 500BB for your bankroll as long as you feel comfortable moving down if you run poorly. For pros you need a lot more, though (1000BB+).
