good explanation throughout, but one criticism to help better the next videos is to clean up the speech "um", "like", "ton of"

Makes this video very hard to listen to.

While I appreciate that you might have concerns with slight imperfections in the video, it would be much more productive to PM me those comments so we can reserve this thread for comments on the play and strategy discussion.

Thanks.

I got a lot out of your commentary on this vid, especially when I c/r'ed the K87r board when I held 89...cant really understand why I did that at the time. The only other hand I didnt like the way I played was the very last 4bet pot...I knew it was a mistake to take a stab at that board on the river, just one of those situations where you feel bad about it as soon as you do it.

Other than that I was happy with my play overall and think the vid turned out well

I don't get these recent overreactions to whitelime's pauses and Vanessas few mannerisms. Can't people just look pass those and concentrate on the content?

meh. the first video from emil left a little to be desired.

Criticizing Vanessa for laughing or saying "um" or "like" is ridiculous. I like her videos the most. She is very insightful and does a good job of explaining thought processes.

If only she could transmit her hand reading ability through video.

In the K9/KQs hand, what's the worst hand you call the river with?

If you don't remember the hand, it was:

SB opens to 12, we call in BB with K9o.

Flop comes down ThTs3c, goes check/check.

Turn is a Kc, check/call 18 into 23

River is a 2h, check/call 46 into 59

Do you call 55 there?

Hey mayonegg,

Whether or not we call 55 really depends on the flow of the match and how often my opponent is bluffing and what level I think he is on. I haven't watched this video in a while so it's tough for me to say what I'd do. It's definitely close though. One important factor to consider is how often he is c-betting. Many people will check behind TT3r type flops with air hoping to just delayed c-bet the turn (but they'll usually give up when called, though not always). I'm probably going to fold 55 most of the time but it can be close against a lot of opponents. With K9, we have a K which eliminates combos of kings my opponent can have, and I also think he can be value betting a worse hand a small but non-zero percentage of the time considering how weakly we have played our hand here.

Hope that helps.

Vanessa,

At various spots in the first 4 episodes you say something along the lines of "if we get 4-bet, we only need our opponent to fold 20-25 % of the time to make a 5-bet shove profitable with any two". Could you please elaborate? It just doesn't sound right to me in terms of math, or maybe I'm missing something? Thanks.
