i like it when wilt talks more about theory, thx for this.
I have a question on the Q5ss cbet after 3betting on table 2 (06:00). I am a 6max player and new to hu and my inclination is to check/fold the 385hh flop vs this player, because he folds so much to 3bets. His 3betcallingrange is therefore pretty small/strong (broadways and good sc). and we can not barrel many turns (except this =) ). So i think we have not enough foldequity to +ev cbet. Sure he call here with worse but a pair of fives is ugly to play oop. My question: is it too weak check/folding here?

Thanks!
Yea I think c/f here is too weak. He will 4bet 99+, AQ+ at least and there are still a good number of combinations of overcards that he can fold on the flop. If you pull out pokerstove and just look at some very rough math (this wont be exact) and look a potential worst case scenario and lets give him about 20% defending range (taking out AQ+, 99+ for 4betting) and give him something like this: 88-55,AJs-A6s,K9s+,Q9s+,J9s+,T9s,98s,87s,76s,65s,AJo-ATo,KTo+,QTo+,JTo
Then look at how that range connects with the board (not necessarily equity, just how it connects), he's probably folding a lot with the missed overs (sometimes peeling with say overs and backdoor fd), so let's say we give him 12 combos of each of the overcards instead of 16, that's about 8*12 = 96, so now the question is how much do we risk with a cbet. For ease let's round it to half pot. So assuming we can get him to fold roughly 96 combos that means if we have zero equity he can have up to 192 combos that continue in some manner and we would still break even on a cbet. Just looking at this range, he's not anywhere close to that, plus we actually have equity (5 outs usually) when behind.
So yea I think we're doing just fine by cbetting here even against a tight range, just because of the pure number of overcards we can make him fold. Now you could decide whether or not a c/c and play our hand as a bluff catcher could be better, but I think just by looking at the rough numbers we're doing better to cbet than to c/f
Make sense?

Was thinking the same, and i don t think it s too difficult to balance if ever need to against that type of vilain, seems to me that he s more the type to play his ranges always the same on that kind of board.

hey guys i m the villian of the vid, i m a snghu player giving the first steps in cash have about 15k hands played.
one of the reasons wy i m folding so mutch to 3bet and cbeting so low was because i m a snghu player and in sng lower variance strategy is adviced and 3bets are mutch more respected because the stacks are so shalow. Things that i m adapting making the transition to cash, and puting some other things in my game.
Wiltontilt thanks alote for the vid it was very of instructive, if you have any advices besides cbet more, fold to 3bet less, and thin value bet more (3 things that i already make ) i would apreciate, thanks.
If you guys are curios abouth any hand i can give the hand history.

hey, thanks for chiming in. It's been a while since I reviewed this video so I don't have any comments off the top of my head, but I appreciate you coming in to let us know your background, that makes some sense.
