Great Vid analysis Kasino. I Like how you explain things in a way I find is much easier to understand. I think this series will be one of the best plo ones yet on the site, which I've watched all of. Kudos to you Kasino for creating such a sound game!!! glgl

Hi guys this is Part 1/2 , Part 2 coming soon. There were a few issues with skype call recording so the audio may be off a few seconds here or there, hope it is still easy enough to follow though Smile

The term you are looking for is "locked down board."

wtf @ last hand on table 2? c/f AKJJ on a QTx board? we have the nut wrap, blockers if someone is drawing to the J, a backdoor flushdraw and a blocker to the spade flushdraw.

Please leave a time-stamp or better yet, Watch this short video, and leave a time link!

That will be much easier for the coaches to find the hand and answer your questions, thanks.

yea def misplayed that hand on table 2 , black666. I think I got distracted by the hand on table 4 and forgot I had raised table 2 pre. Then after checking there was a bet and a raise so I let it go, I def should have cbet I think.

You openraise JT44ds on table 2 in the CO and KQ32ds on table 4 in MP.
Is this standard open for normal TAG game?

I think it is actually too loose (def the MP open) but i don´t have a lot plo experience yet. Or does the double-suitedness help so much in your hand strength that it is playable?

The video itsself and the explanations are great btw!

Hi dvv15 -

Thanks for checking out the video, and for the kind comments too; I'm glad you got something out of it!

In regards to your question, I generally base my opening ranges on the table dynamics and the tendencies of my opponents. When you're in the CO and there's a tight player on the BTN but a fish in the blinds, I think an argument can certainly be made for opening practically any double suited hand. Since ds'd hands have such smooth equity distribution, they're really easy to play post-flop especially in position against weaker opponents that will let us value bet thinly, while also playing passively OOP which allows us to realize our equity more often. But obviously if the BTN is super aggressive or incredibly loose, then tightening up is necessary since we won't have position post-flop, which hurts us since we won't be able to bluff flops as easiliy. Value betting becomes trickier as well since we're only suited to the Q and K, so betting into three or more players with a draw to the non-nuts can become difficult, particularly when we're OOP.

Overall, if there's tighter players behind you but loose players in the blinds, you can really open up your game. Loose or aggressive players behind you, start tightening up or limping (if their passive) to see cheap flops with polarized hands. The key when tables are very loose is to avoid building multi-way pots with medium strength hands, because remember that medium strength pre-flop hands more often than not result in medium-strength post-flop equity, which is no bueno with several players in the pot imo.

Hopefully this helps. Don't hesitate to let me know if you want me to clarify something.

Can't Hero rep a non-nut straight on table 4 here? He could easily have 95xx or 45xx that knows his hand is best and is going for a clear value bet on the river. Most 2 pair hands that villain has will fold, as well as some sets some % of the time.

What about 3-betting your hand at table 4? What range would you 3-bet with in that spot?
