"use multiple panels" is something I use.
Basically it changes the function of <-New Line->, if it is checked then it makes each <-New Line-> create a separate box, so you have a choice. If you want all the stats in one box leave it unchecked. If you want to be able to move the various stats around and about the player then you can check the box and have some stats above the player, some below, and maybe some left and right of the player.

Also, you can hold "CTRL" while dragging some of the stats as it means the just move for that player and not every player.

Just my general pref, I do not use the name[abr]. But it is very useful if your HUD has gone wonky and you want to know who is who again. So you might want to remember it exists even if you do not generally use it as you can turn it on and off any time.

I am not sure whether this question was considered in the video. Can the HEM HUD show the mucked hands (as the PAHUD does)?

Yeah, it does -- I'm pretty sure it's automatic.

Yes

Sometimes I have had slight problems on Betfair with it but hitting the "mucked Cards Test" tab under "Table Preferences" causes AA-TT to appear in each of the areas the hand should and appears to reset the HUD's mucked hand display so the hands appear next time.

Dunno if anyone else was having similar problems with it. This is the only way i've found to solve it so far...a little annoying but suppose i can handle it, it's a great piece of software.

Thanks for Entity and yeahgoforit for quick answers. This Holdem Manager seems to be a pretty attractive choice to Pokertracker. When the support for Pokertracker 2 ends, I really need to consider whether to update the Pokertracker or to start using HEM.

This was a useful vid, thanks.

PT3 is due to be out on May 15th, so I'm also not sure which program to go for.

The HUD stats seem fairly close together. Is it possible to move individual numbers as it in using PokerAce HUD?

Also, does this program have anything that PT3 is missing, or vice-versa?

yes, thats what I was pointing out the "use multiple panels" does in the first reply.

Something else that might be worth pointing out as been as a few people have mentioned about last cards, you can grab them and move them about with the right mouse button if they are in they need moving a bit and clicking on the $xx.xx in last hands re-shows them if you missed them.

My hud works perfectly fine as is, is there a reason to get the new version?

IIRC they've rewritten a lot of it so that you can use it and see stats when you're not sitting at a table, to use it for table selection a bit more. I'm not 100% certain of this but I know that the new version should have it soon if it doesn't already.

Also I didn't actually know about the player analysis you could pull up within the HUD before seeing this.

updated today, and installed the new HUD.
btw, the new hud as a bug that if the opacity is turned up full the back ground goes completely transparent. Fix it easy by just turning the opacity down one notch.

There was a mousehook.dll in with the hud, no idea where that goes so put it in the same place.

That analysis window is the dogs cogs now.

Kondor, thanks for the clarification. It looks great, I must admit. I think I'll wait until the 15th and trial HEM and PT3 and see which I prefer. I think this is going to be hard to beat though.

Thanks for making these tool time videos. I managed to get the trial HEM + Postgres installed and the hud configured in about 30min after watching them.

Will be upgrading and doing the mass import of datamined hands as soon as the DC-HEM discount is available.

It is restricted in the trial version I think - buy it and you get a sh1t load more stats you can use.

If you're playing on a site where you have a preferred seat position, you may need to adjust your settings: HUD Options > Seating Preferences and then select the right ones

Hi DJ and anybody else reading this,

This might be a dumb question but here goes, I have loaded HEM and got it working with Stars, then I watched this video and all seemed to be looking good, however I have decided that due to me not having used HEM or PT before, plus based on some other advice from the "Software" forum I am going to keep my stats down in the region of 6, 7 or 8 until I get used to it.

What I am struggling to understand is how do you get to the numbers that you put against each stat, in this vid DJ clicks on a stat, lets say PFA, he chooses a colour then puts a number against it, he does this three times per stat to show fish through to shark, where do these numbers come from?

Before I continue I am not saying I do not trust DJ's choice of numbers, but I just need it cleared up if his choice is the choice of all or do I put in my own to suit my own game, there are some vids on the HEM site but for some reason I cannot get them to work.

Thanks Guys

I just want to be 100% sure. If I set my hud up exactly like you did in regards to the vpip, pfr, agression factor and total hands (only stats i use) is the ranges in the video compatible with fr nlhe ??

The most important stats (imo) are VPIP, PFR, Aggression, # of hands, 3bet %, and fold to 3bet. As long as you have those in place you should be fine, anything else you add is great if you know how to use it and aren't distracted by it or anything.

All of the numbers I used come from my own personal experience and my rough estimates of the kind of ranges that various player-types will be likely to have.

Before I continue I am not saying I do not trust DJ's choice of numbers, but I just need it cleared up if his choice is the choice of all or do I put in my own to suit my own game, there are some vids on the HEM site but for some reason I cannot get them to work.

I wouldn't stress too much about it. The whole point of the HUD is to give you a little extra assistance when deciding what play to make, if you don't have specific reads on your opponent. If you're making every decision based on something in your HUD, then you're probably doing it wrong!

Those ranges are a little more designed towards 6max, but they'd work for FR too. Its not like the ranges and colors are crucial, they just help make things easier to interpret.

Also I'd highly recommend that you start using 3bet and fold to 3bet stats as well. At the very least, add them and just see what kind of players have different stats in those categories.
