"Chris is folding."

I hope you guys will continue the discussion. I understand what Chuck's saying here, that he wants to get the pot headsup, but I really do see that Rob is right in that there aren't very many hands DD could have that will be folding that Chuck wouldn't want to stay in, but the risk of getting 3bet makes this a very tough raise.

There's a similarity in the previous hand where Mike's stuck in the middle and whether to raise the turn. In that case, I'd hate it, but the raise would be the right play. Here it's not.

Man, this is high-level chit, man. lol

My goal was to put a lot of out of the norm pressure on Mike here and he came through with flying colors, imo.

That's all you got to say after the way they treated your entire family tree??? They trashed your forebears going back to the Emerald Isle, man. Let's hear how they completely misunderstood every move you made! Esp the one where you donked out with the low pair on a three-flush board. C'mon, Joe, do it for Worcester!

First, I'm not Irish. I'm 100% Lithuanian. But I grew up Celtics with the big-3.

Ok, the 54s(did I have that there?) hand in the SB...ok DD raises preflop in EP he has any two broadway, any suited Ace, lots of Axo like maybe A7o+, and a bunch of broadway-gap-suitedness and if I play, I want Mike to call, so I just do something bizzaro and call. The flop is montone T65 and it's donked by Mike and DD just calls.

What do they have?

Sooooooo this is what I know. Mike does not have a Ten and DD has two overcards with a heart.

Why?

I feel Mike plays a Ten differently and I just KNOW DD has two overs with a pair as I've played with more than any other in the video.

So here's a quick PT of that:

Board: Th 6h 5h

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Mike: 41.697% { 88-22, A6s-A5s, A6o-A5o }
DD: 37.060% { 77-66, 44, A2o+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo }
me: 21.244% { 5s4s }

Or it could be this:

Board: Th 6h 5h

Mike: 39.767% { 88-22, A6s-A5s, A6o-A5o }
DD: 39.412% { 99-77, 44, A2s+, A7o+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo }
me: 20.821% { 5s4s }

Regardless, I'm getting around 20% equity and I'm getting 8:1 on the flop so I called.

Now onto the turn. I turn and OESD and decide that the best way to put pressure on Mike to fold his pair (as I was sure he had one) was to donk. So I did, they both called, now I'm DEAD sure of the range and as long as the heart doesnt hit I thought Mike would fold his pair.

He didnt. He played good.

I would actually like to know more of Mikes thoughts on this spot.

1. Does he play a Ten differently?
2. How close he was to folding the river?

One thing I have to say I was afraid of Mike "WTF?-Calling".

Hey Joe, I wish you could have joined us for the follow up video, but I'm glad you're adding your thoughts here.

Reading your post the hand makes a lot more sense to me now from your perspective and, to be fair, your reads were dead on. I know you took some heat for the way you played this hand but to be honest I kind of feel like if it had worked and I had folded people would have thought your play was expert.

To me the crux of this hand is how I respond to your turn donk. If I raise as Chris advocated I think I make the river play easier for myself (I assume you don't donk the river if I had raised the turn, regardless of whether or not Chris called). Which just reinforces that Chris was right and I needed to raise that turn.

To answer your questions, as played,

1) Yes, I play a ten differently. I would almost certainly have checked to see what you did after Chris inevitably cbet. I likely would have check raised with any T in my range if you called or folded. I don't know what I'd do if you had check raised. Possibly c/r 3-bet depending on my kicker and if I had a heart.

2) I did think about folding the river. You probably remember that I took a while to call. Part of the problem for me was that Chris was behind me (again - turn error on my part).

I settled on a call (but not a wtf call) because I felt you didn't play a ten that way, there was no reason to think you had a nine, and your range looked polarized between flushes and one pair type hands that may have had a busted heart draw. It seemed like you could have a lot more of the latter type of hands, especially since I discounted the flushes somewhat as I thought you'd get a raise in with them.

As I said before when it was "ONLY" danzasmack and entity.
The differences in opinion and the debate that follows is FANTASTIC.
The addition of DD in the commentary is priceless.
I hope you are able to do more of these with all your voices present.
please do more of this.

if you do...I WILL BUY YOU ALL A ICE CREAM CONE!

Yeah I also think it's pretty much a recurring theme that having people interact and toss around ideas back and forth often brings out the most interesting discussion. And it also sounds like you don't have too hard time coming up with things to say, so it's not like it's that much harder. Of course, it takes a bit more "net time" as it takes several of the producers to do one video, but I think it's worth it.

I'm not saying that videos with one commentator are worthless or anything. It's just that they sometimes miss the things that come up with these videos with human interaction.

Joe, I'm sorry. I forgot your ancestry--and how could I??? Jeez.

Thanks for replying. Add me double to one of those who wished you'd have been there. I'd have stayed for the war-and-peace episodes.

(Joe and I are related in a very off-beat kinda way, although he might not admit it.) lol

I just wanted to say thanks to Chris, George, Chuck, Rob, and Joe for participating in this video. It really was an incredible learning opportunity and a great experience. Your time and effort are always appreciated.

Also, best outro ever.

My only disappointment is that Rob didn't rickroll everyone like we talked about. Smile

So you're doing a podcast with all of you discussing poker stuff? The title of the show is obvious: IMO.
