Josh's highly-anticipated small-stakes No Limit guide. With all the widely available information on the internet, games are tougher than ever. This trickles all the way down to the small stakes and even micro-limit games. If you're not constantly improving, thousands of players who are will pass you right by, and as a result it's no longer good enough to be merely competent. Sthief09 moves from 50NL to 200NL, teaching you solid fundamentals, and showing you when it's correct to deviate from tight, straightfoward strategy. Whether you're a new player who wants to beat the small stakes games, or you're a veteran looking to increase your winrate and move up, this series will help you turn the corner on your poker game.

Josh, this series has been outstanding. All the videos seem really well planned out, with a clear idea of the concepts you want to get across, and absolutely tonnes of quality content in each (probably the most content-filled I've seen in any low stakes vid/series at any site).
Really looking forward to this one.

I don't really like/understand the turn play with the KK hand on table four. You make a small bet and justify it by saying if you bet more on the turn he could call and fold river? That does not make sense to me. Seems like you want to get villain committed in that spot so that he has to call with something like QQ because the pot is so large.
Other than that I'll echo "chomp"'s comments and say the series has been excellent. I do think sometimes you...talk...in ...fragments....but I've gotten used to it now from watching and rewatching these vids several times =) This is one of the best series on the site. Well done.

Exec Producerwell some people will call there, but I think a lot people will realize that when I fire a 3rd barrel on a paired board like that (meaning it's a lot less likely for him to have a draw) for like 1/4 pot, I'm not even bluffing the 1/5 of the time he needs. so if I bet $88 there, then bet the other $85 on the river into ~290 pot, how often do you expect a tight player to call with QQ? some players might just push the turn, but it's a good spot for him to call the turn and fold the river.
it's a pretty awkward spot. that's why I've started just betting bigger on boards like this. I sometimes miss out on value vs. 88 or 77 if they fold the flop to a $36 or 38 bet, but the stacks just don't really work for 3 bets here. 2 bets works out very nicely, while 3 bets either forces me to bet too small on the flop and turn, or leaves that river dangler for 30-40 BB. so if I had to do this one again, since it's a drawy flop, I'd bet 36-38, and push the turn. I think that's the best way to taget QQ or TT, and it lets me play AKcc or KQcc or whatever the same way.
thanks for all the kind words everyone. I'm still doing ssnl for next season. I know a big critique was that I should number the tables and refer to them before talking about a hand, so I'll be doing that. caderousse, do you have a specific example of where I talked in fragments? I'm always trying to work on my speech in the videos, so that would be helpful to hear what you're talking about.

Actually the KK hand I mentioned above has it, especially the turn discussion. Perhaps you're just trying to get your thoughts out. But there are a ton of pauses and "uh.." and "umm..." and "so...."
Again though, love the series man. Very, very helpful to us SSNL grinders.
