i'm kinda doing this stream of consciousness as i watch:
9 minutes in, why would the half stack limper and especially the TAG limping behind have big hands? i think their ranges are weighted more towards garbage for UTG and pps/scs for the tag. i think limping behind is fine fwiw.
16 min in now, hero's table selection methods seem subpar. seems like youre just finding tables with open seats in the lobby; especially at FTP 200NL, youre just not going to be maximizing your EV without some better table selection. i recommend spadeeye 100% for this.
my thoughts about raising that 45o are that i prob wouldn't minraise against the super fish, i think i would actually almost always fold 45o here. but with lots of other weak hands, i would make it $5-6 here. against a couple tags i like minraising some of the trashier hands, but i think the fish will call way too wide for just $2 more.
22 min in, i hate squeezing j5o OTB there since we just got owned in the previous pot. the river b/f looks really bluffy i think so trying to make a bluff hte next hand is less likely to work.
22:40 i think fish would pot it with big hands a lot here and not just weak stuff, but i agree calling is best. i like to give the PSB respect until i see otherwise early in the session. i dont like betting the turn for the same reason. i also kinda disagree that a fish has nuts or air on the river with the PSB; i think its more likely for a bad player to just bet something random. turns out i was wrong to be so cautious, but early i hate donking stacks off to the fish, and prefer to just wait for something a little stronger before calling down. so maybe i need to reevaluate the way i play these types of aggro fish. i guess i freeze up too much when the pot it or something? :)
29:30 i think a 18/9 tag will be limping pretty weak hands UTG, weak enough that we can still isolate him with K9. probably not with his actual stack size, but i would probably raise if he had like 60bb+. even if he does limp/call AJs like you said, he still will play super-straightforward and c/f when he misses the flop.
32:15 completely agree with jamming the turn, looks bluffy, doesnt let him pot control, and theres no reason either of us should have a 9.
35:10 agree about flop/turn play in AK hand. would valuebet pretty decently if he checks river.
38:30 def bet flop with QTs every time
Hero: where are all your notes? get some reads yo!
40:30 i would c-bet the flop with 33 when the 18-9 calls in the blinds. the QJ9 board is pretty bad for his range which is gonna be lots of pocket pairs, plus we have no showdown value so just stab at it. should be profitable if you make a smallish bet.
43:00 i like your flop bet size with the NFD. i dont like betting the turn since its not a scarecard. also you want to see the river in the situation you both have a FD, and if he does have TP or a J hes probably calling on the river if you ck the turn and hit anyway.
44:50 your cbet size is a little big i think with the A8s against the BU coldcaller
45:40 i usually just call the flop here. a raise really polarizes our range to like AJ/AK or better. we don't want to fold him off a worse Ax, and with position we can easily control the size of the pot on the turn or river, maximize value against bluffs, and lose the min against his monsters.
47:30 89o in the bb on table 3; i would bet the turn when he checks because i think there is definitely value, and i would usually then ck behind on the river.
How can I sign up to make a video for review? This is a very interesting format.
