lol @ the opening for the series now, especially since I imagined dj trying to do that.
My video cuts out and doesnt let me flick through it in windows media player. In VLC it goes all dodgey and i have to actually skip a chunk of the video so i can watch the rest of it.
Something not quite right here... Anyone else?

Where do you have the problems? I just watched the entire thing on Windows Media Player and it played fine. Maybe trying redownloading the file will help?

In my experience, VLC always has this issue, I'm pretty sure it's a VLC problem though. It will take like 5-10 seconds to sync the video up and you'll see lots of colored blocks and junk when you skip around the video using the slider. The sound will go in sync, it just takes a few seconds for VLC's rendering to catch up.
WMP never seems to give me this problem though. Media Player Classic is also good.

i was definitely cracking up during the intro.
Greatest intro ever we need Dan actually dancing though imo
man i think that 4bet/fold w/ AQ was terrible.

yea, maybe. what was the bad part about it? the sizing, the choice to 4bet at all, or the fold?
aren't you 4betting AQ and calling a shove?
and the other option is not 4betting it becuase you cant call a shove?

You don't have to call a shove necessarily when you 4-bet AQ. It depends on your 4-bet sizing and on the likelihood of your opponent 5-betting with a range that AQo does well vs. 4-betting and calling a shove is definitely viable in some spots but it's one of the reasons you want to pay close attention to your 4-betting sizes whether your have trash, big hands, or medium-ish hands like AQ.

On the Ac3c hand when you raise in the CO and get called on the button...blinds fold.
Flop comes 4c3s9d.
Since the board is so dry, do you ever consider check-calling here? My thinking being is that you need to check-call some flops that you raised preflop for balance and this is a good one. The 4 and 3 are unlikely to hit your opponent. He's not folding better. Do you think he calls with worse outside of deuces?
Fwiw, I think leading is good also, I was just curious if you ever check-call this flop? I guess a Better flop to check-call would be something like QJ on a AKQ rainbow board, since there aren't over-cards that you need to protect against.
Whatever...just curious.

Why does you mouse always invariably move to the fold check box at the beginning of every single new hand? :D
And I think I have to agree with jfish. 4betting is fine as long you stick it in imo. Otherwise you turn an-almost-premium hand into 23o. Why not do this with 23o instead if you plan to fold to a shove? Its not like you expect to get flat called in this instance.
20mins in you fold K9o when it's folded to you on the button..
???
i remember you did something similar in your last vid where i thought it was an automatic raise..
do you ever tilt yourself by playing so weird and goofy??
i like your videos though
do you ever tilt yourself by playing so weird and goofy??
No, not at all. Quite the opposite actually. I almost never tilt when I play, but I hope my style leads my opponents to do so as often as possible.
Maybe trying redownloading the file will help?

I clicked on Video tab at top of page. Then click on each video to get to its page. In High-Quality Download section there were no links. (Added: except for Tool Time videos; those had links.)
That was yesterday.
Everything is back to normal today.

just call it off. you have 35% equity vs most 5bet ranges and you were getting 2:1.
DJ Sensei, all of your videos are filled with smart, tricky plays. A video with a montage of minraising postflop would be fun. You would have a blast doing it, and we would all be completely entertained. Keep up the good work, The Unconventional Wisdom series was the best NL videos ever produced. JrOk777
that would be pretty silly, but I might do one of those for funsies. I suspect most people are pretty bad at responding to minraises pre.
appreciate the props, too, i'm glad to hear you're so pleased
question. when the villain min3bet almost your AKss utg raise and you elected to call only OOP because of odds, why did you say that on the 335 flop (or something like that) that you would CRAI if the villain did in fact cbet the flop?
wouldnt you expect him to basically call with all overpairs almost?

Well, not necessarily all overpairs. I think he'll fold many of the littler ones. But also, most of his range is not overpairs, and AK has at least decent equity against all but AA and KK.
hate the 4bet/fold with AQ. Def a good enough hand to call with, so it makes no sense to bluff with it. Can reserve that for weaker hands. Other than that hand I liked this one a lot, well done
First of all, awesome video. Everything I've seen DJ do is great
I don't understand the AQ 4bet/fold hand either. I suck at 4/5 bets though, b/c I play nl100 FR so there is VERY little of that going on. It just seems to me you are completely and absolutely turning your hand into a bluff by 4beting and knowing you can't call a shove. Am I wrong? Does villain just call the 4bet relatively often?
I think I've already addressed the AQ hand in this thread, but basically it was probably a mistake to 4bet and fold. If I 4bet AQ there I probably need to stack off, and if I don't like doing that then I should just flatcall the 3bet.
