Movin' on Up: Episode Four by FoxwoodsFiend

FoxwoodsFiend plays $2/4 NL and talks about the adjustments required for playing in the tougher, more aggressive games one finds at those stakes. Overbet bluffing a good hand reader, 5bet jamming AQ against an aggressive opponent, and mindlessly getting it all in with shortstacks for the hell of it, he plays in some tight games while emphasizing the constantly changing complexion of the 2/4 NL games on PokerStars.

About Movin' on Up Subscribe to

Ever wonder why you can't break into that higher limit you're always taking shots at? FoxwoodsFiend moves up through different stakes of No-Limit, starting off at .5/1 and playing gradually higher stakes. He illustrates the different types of gameplay at each limit while explaining the adjustments players from one level to the next must make in order to be successful in their ascent. FWF talks about the different types of fish and regulars at the varied stakes, plays he would make at one level but not at the next, and touches on which playing styles are more suitable for which stakes. DeucesCracked is going to show you how to make the leap.

The KK vs K7 hand. Why would you 3-bet that guy a lot, even when he is weak? He has 18/8 stats so the chances are pretty big he has a premium hand. I see no point in 3-betting him with marginal holdings. Why not just call with speculative hands, pairs and suited connectors, and count on the fact that he can't fold his premium hand when you hit.

Great vid and fantastic series FWF. Probably the best video instruction that I've watched/listened to both on this site and the competition's. Great strategy content, articulate, fun to watch, AND SO FAR YOU HAVEN'T COUGHED INTO THE MIC (pretty sure at least)!! Keep that streak going!

FWIW I had Kd Qd, not TT. Probably still a lil spewy, but I think he could have 3b with weaker hands. Not sure thats the right strategy. FWF pretty much read my soul.

sometimes i get bored and see if i can get away with it.

seriously though, my vid's not playing for some reason, but i assume he was in late position, in which case he has more than 8% in his opening range. being 18/8 means he's likely to be weak-tight in general so won't play back at me. 8% of hands is all pocket pairs, AK, AQ. If he has a low pocket pair he'll call and fold if he doesn't hit a set so I make money off his call. Factor in the fact he might be raising wider in late position and it's not that bad of a reraise imo.

8 vids in each series (with the exceptions of Ghost, Mentor, Ring-Side, and Duel). I think Ariel was planning on going up to 10/20 in this but am not 100% sure.

isn't the play to hope a ton of 2/4 regs watch this and think you are weak tight to 5bet shoves, and then own them?

very good video

btw $80 buys ~3months of DeucesCracked

This series is awesome on so many levels. Great educational material, and incredibly entertaining as well.

FwF's clearly been playing HSNL for way too long, lol @ the $80 comments and others of the kind (which I enjoy heh).

I'm eagerly awaiting the 3/6 ep, I seem to get my ass handed to me pretty badly at that level.

FWF I normally watch vids to send me to sleep after my sessions but I constantly find myself staying up late watching these vids. FWF these are by FAR the most educational and entertaining to watch compared to any other videos that i've watched thus far. Thanks!
