I think I tend to check the river as well, but I think I like Bossoxx's line a tad better overall. Do you think there's any utility to betting even smaller in order to create an illusion of greater fold-equity?
Bosoxx34 brings in a student to help him explain and pick his brain about certain spots in his 2-tabling 100NL Heads Up video.
Bosoxx34 takes a voyage through the farm system of HUNLHE from 50NL all the way to 1000NL.

Sure, a big weakness of mine is not really taking weird lines against fish to maximize value. It's something I really want to experiment with during my break here and be able to use when I come back for the next part of the series.

Thanks, these types of comments mean a lot since I put a ton of time into the videos. Appreciate it.
Highlight of my week! Gonna watch the vid tonight when the crappy internet at my vacation spot cuts out at 11pm.
I liked the fact you switched it up and had one of your students ask questions...definitely think that added to the video
To comment on the q10 hand at the end I think folding the river would be bad. Despite a reg knowing its a bad spot to bluff, he is still repping pretty narrow (qj,kx) discounted b/c u hav a queen the 2 kings are out there, and mayb A10 but based on his timing i think he would have thought it out more b/c he mite think hes value towning himself. Also like your student said, he just lost a big pot...pretty much a gross spot but u have to call.
great series and lookin forward to more of your vidz

Wierd sidenote - but if you use the classic media player the pause stuff doesnt pop up at the bottom, you can zoom the recording to just the action and the pause button is always there.
Kinda nitty I know... hehe
That hand in the 3bet pot where you called the river with 2nd pair because you said he can't have a king the way the hand played out, I don't think that's necessarily true?
You said he's unlikely to have a king because he didn't raise on the flop/turn but.. isn't it kind of standard now to just call with TPGK in a 3bet pot to let your opponent bluff and protect your range?

I was also thinking this.

Yeah I'm calling in this spot 100% of the time for the reason we stated and you wrote. Just wanted to make the point that it seems like a spot where a lot of guys give up and it's a spot where I tend to call more than I should probably.

It's much more common nowadays but still not something I see a ton personally.

I really hate your call there. His value range is thin, but his bluff range is thinner.

I like the line of 3 betting flop small against villains that will make these small raises, tends to induce spazzing, also he might call with a K, then you can fake block bet small on turn, and give villain "good pot odds" to call it off on the river.
Do you ever take this line?
Maybe i've been watching too many high stakes videos.

It's something I do quite often, however this was pretty early in the match and really wasn't sure what this meant so I decided to hope he had a hand like Ax that he would continue to value bet or a bluff.
cbet with kq high? no check back and bluff catch?
It's something I used to do a lot, but calling turn/river generally isn't fun with k high and most people play straight forward on A high flops so I was fine firing one and being done with the hand.
