I'm wondering about this logic in PLO; always bet pot regardless of hand strength and position? If we are raising more of our range from late position why do we still bet pot? I think there are several good reasons to bet smaller:
We get more action from our strong hands.
We are able to fold our weaker hands to 3bets, losing less.
We keep the stacks deeper which is better for us in position.
I've been watching some higher stakes games and I note that players do not bet pot as much. So I'm curious about this.
Are you talking about pre-flop? If so, I do open smaller from the BTN, maybe the CO if the BTN isn't going to call or 3bet that often. That said, once there is a limper I don't think we'll be isolating as wide as if we were opening, so I think potting it is pretty much standard. Also, if the BB and limper like in this hand are going to call a big raise and we have a hand that will dominate them post-flop, building the pot pre-flop, even in position is great, especially since we're deeper than 100bbs. Sorry for taking so long to respond, I hadn't noticed your comment on the dashboard thing.
No problem. I appreciate these insights. I'm working my way thru the episodes and enjoying them very much.
