I've decided it should be pronounced "tur-OAT-eye"
In 5th grade there was an assignment which required up to make our name into a self-referential acronym. For example, Bob might become B.ig O.bnoxious B.eautiful.
Being somewhat of an idiot, I thought we were just supposed to make up any old acronym about ourselves. I came up with turoati -- "the utmost ruler of all that is" (yes I was a dork).

Turo and Ati are actually Finnish male first names. Turo loosely means "donkey", I think. In the 80's there was a Finnish tv-comedy with 2 goof-balls, Turo and Ati, if my memory serves. That is why I expected a Finnish dude...
Anyway, I think this video shows a good teaching format, one playing and discussing with other(s)in detail as he goes along.

I found it a nice vid, however not too much discussion going on. I think its a nice format, but I would like to see students play and the coach ask questions why they are doing what they are doing and make adjustments. Right now its more like..do you guys agree? And i think they always agreed.. Im just thinking you would get more out of it if the student plays and the coach comments.
Most training videos ofcourse you get to see the 'right' way to play. I think it would be a nice change of pace to see someone make mistakes that I can relate to. Since you tend to learn from your mistakes and all..

I agree. As it is now its kind of gimicky and you don't really gain much from having more people talking than the expert. It seemed like what was actually tried was to get the students to say what they think is right before you make the right move, but a lot of timing out was happening so you had to just play and let them agree/disagree after and that just didn't flow as well as it was supposed to I think. I also found it annoying that mic quality was lower and louder of the students than the coach.
Some kind of reviewing of poorer players sessions could be helpfull though. I'm sure abunch of us have the sameish leaks and we could learn from that. I'm not sure what woudl be better between reviewing a recorded session and a real time one. So basically I think there are some really good ideas here it just needs some tweaking to really shine as a regular thing.

Hey guys (rockeyboy & six3s) - We use the sweeps week for exactly this sort of thing as a trial to have a look at potential future full or mini series' so thanks for the feedback and I'm sure Steve will address this as well.
On both of your notes - Friday's video is the exact format it seems like you guys are looking for where I mentor a DC member/student while he plays 3-4 tables of NL50 and I try to take him through some keys to beating SSNL with a bonus inside look at how I start to analyze my student's games through the position stats tab in pokertracker - so look for that to be released tomorrow which I think you guys will enjoy.
As always, thanks for the feedback on this video and I will look forward to this same type of feedback on my video tomorrow because we are here for the same main reason - to unlock our members' full potential and help them achieve the highest winrate possible at their current and future higher stakes.

Like I told tubasteve, I think it would have worked better if we did it on a hand replayer. That way we would actually have time to discuss the action and he could have corrected our errors.
The other thing is that unfortunately no real hands came up that were that difficult to play. The format has a lot of potential though I think.

Hey Messiah, that sounds pretty awesome. Im looking forward to it.
Yes, tune into Messiah's video and the video that tubasteve and I did, coming out on Saturday, that's another twist to this session review coaching method we would like feedback on.
Great video Steve, keep up the good work!

Thanks for your comments six3s. I agree with much of what you said in this statement. This was sort of a first time thing, and I figure even if the coaching aspect wasn't that useful strategy-wise, it gives DeucesCracked subscribers some insight into one of our coaching methods, and there is plenty of strategy content to be obtained just from watching the video as I play a very solid TAG style.

At around 37:00 you open A8, BB defends, he has a high c/r % like you say and seems pretty aggressive.
Flop comes 87x 2-tone. Tuba, you say you don't want to give a free card here and you need to protect your hand. What confuses me is other mentors say you should check behind here and play for pot control and be thinking about protecting your stack and not the hand over a small pot. If you bet and villain c/r you, you're in a tough spot. Would you mind going over this? I respect all of you but when mentors contradict each other, I get confused!

Hi, Tuba. Nice video. I agree with some of these other guys about how it came off a little unorganized and chaotic, but it did have some valuable moments for sure. Anyway, I have a question about a few of the hands that you folded.
1) 30:00 ATo, UTG
2) 30:40 QTo, SB vs COr
3) 33:35 K9s, UTG
4) 34:25 ATs, BB vs UTGr
5) 36:20 68s, SB vs UTGr
Why did we fold in these situations? I realize that in all of these situations, we were OOP, and we are supposed to play tighter OOP, but could a reasonable argument be made to play these hands? Thanks.
