If you read that they are checking to give up, even though we are likely good at showdown, do you think betting and taking it down is good in terms of concealing your button flatting range? It seems to me that trying to showdown the hand gives villain cheap information on your ranges. Going back to our 3bet discussion, if I can make a note that my opponent flats AQ IP then I could suspect that my opponent is depolarized when he does 3bet, making my 4bet bluffs easier to attempt.

So, yeah, I like just trying to take it down to hide my ranges more too. Is that logical to you guys?

Jay,

Eli had a QB rating of 0 in one game earlier in his career. Thats hard to do. Hes not that good. If Wes Welker catches that pass Giants lose.

Their first superbowl was even luckier. If the Bucs beat the 3 win raiders giants dont even make the playoffs.

Eli is the luckiest SOB ive ever seen. He constantly looks like hes about to drool on himself, yet he has a supermodel wife.

And please dont ever call soccer "real football". I dont care how many euros youre talking to. If our best athletes played soccer US would be the best by far. Think if coby, tyson chandler(at goal), derrel reevis, steve smith, derik rose, darren sproles, victor cruz all played soccer. US would dominate. But our best athletes play real sports.

HaHa, there are soccer players that can get more air than basketball players, and can sprint almost as fast as Olympian gold medalists, and they certainly change direction faster than Olympians. I guarantee you Ronaldo has a higher vertical than Koby, it's been tested vs. NBA players. Soccer is the worlds best sport, anyone who can't appreciate the beauty, athleticism and skill it takes to compete in the grandest of games is deluded. American football is a stain on a soccer jersey.

You are right though, it's a shame the U.S. doesn't train young talent to play soccer, it could then compete worldwide.

The best soccer player in the world couldnt make the worst nfl, nba, mlb team. Who gives a shit if ronaldo can has a higher vert than Koby(which I highly doubt)? Maybe he could be a decent shortstop but he couldnt hit the ball out of the infield. Maybe he could be a be an ok receiver but the second he got hit he would go down crying and hoping for a pink card. The only shot ronaldo(your best soccer player im assuming) would have at making a pro american sports team would be a point guard in the nba. And thats because there is no contact and acting like a pussy gets you free throws.

Im not saying soccer players arent athletes, Im just saying theye in the same group of athletes as marathon runners and cyclists. Great cardio? Yes. Athletes? No.

We already compete worldwide and do ok.

Im not even going to mention how terrible the actual game is. What a joke.

Sorry for the typical american arrogance. Your boy KongSo started it. Im just stating facts. Our best athletes choose 3 or 4 sports before soccer.

Jay,

That Eli impression is spot on huh? And for the record, I intended to do a slight superbowl derail, but only because you talked about it in the video. I didnt want it to turn into this. Im done and Im sorry.

It's logical, but you're not giving up anything significant by showing your opponent one hand you may flat on the button. I'd put a higher premium on concealing my range if it's in a 3bet or 4bet pot, but I'd still try to get to showdown if I thought the info I was getting on my opponent would be more valuable than the info I was giving away (which, IMO, it usually is). I think in a time where everyone is using HUDs and the better regs aren't always playing the same hand the same way it's difficult to disguise any part of your range.

not much. i suppose the fact that we have TT causes us to consider the situation more often than if we had J2off or the like, but there isn't much difference between the two in a vacuum

Yeah I'm kind of glad we are the only country that plays "football." It makes it that much better imo. I'd rather watch football than soccer and it's not even close, but to each his own. It doesn't bother me.

We made the bet in early 08, the list was: Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, Tony Romo, Philip Rivers, Drew Brees, Garrard. Garrard was coming off a sick season. Best drunk bet ever

Good pick by you and Emil. The list still looks pretty good other than Garrard.

typical american.... a small fraction of the world play your silly sports... say 300m/ 6.5b or 5% - but it is the rest of the world that doesnt get it - the 6.2b who have never heard of Kobe, or Tebow or who the fuck ever...

if an individual thought something about themselves that was as self-deluded fantasy - he'd be strapped up and sent to a psychiatrist...

it would be funny if it wasnt so pathetic

I ve recently changed site and over a decent sample in NL100/200 i see most regs 3betting between 9% and 12% vs button or cutoff open when in the blinds. The difference comes on the 4 bet range. Im easily 4 betting and calling off vs a 3.0+ 4 bet with 99+. My question, or better my questions are:
A) Should i be inclines on doing it also with AQo?
B) Vs a guy that s not folding to 4 bet and also not shoving, when we 4 bet 99+, whats the plan on A high board or K high boards?
C) Vs u guy thats only 4 betting 1.5 , should we 4 bet fold? ( i know that we are 4 betting , not him, but i think its the closest indicator we have)

A) seems kind of thin, depends on the player in question though
B) bet small, shut down if called

17.02: I don't see why this is a good board to c-bet. Is this because our calling range is broadways and pocket pairs? Then again, how can our opponent know after only 30 hands? Don't we flat low suited connectors, don't we flat suited hands like Axs?

I think this is a board where people tend to give up. If i look at my opponents perceived range, it doesn't really hit him hard. He has either overpairs that most of the time bets. Or he has broadways that missed?

So what about just not really having a 3beting range here is you dont wanna 3B In these positions it cant be that bad calling IP. After all we do have position with a good hand. Maybe this fella doesnt want to extra mental stress while 6tableing. Just a thought let me know what you think.... For me its diff days diff plays. Somedays Im 3B happy and I create alot of image, and some days where Im not as mentally prepped for leveling etc. I might just play a easier postflop game/ possibly tighter to avoid mental clutter, given Im not fully mentally charged, but still grinding cause I know im still profiting.

P.S If you play with the same regs alot then switching it up like this can also be added as a side benifit IMO given players will construct your ranges Alot more poorly, say if you were to always just be 3Betting alot.

different player types have different ranges and methodologies for playing them. so you shouldn't think a player thinks the same as you, you should think he thinks like himself and try to put yourself in his shoes. the more you understand the psychologies of different player types, the easier it is to give them more accurate ranges.

sure, there is no one strategy that is best. do what allows you to play your best and put your opponents in as many confusing/difficult situations as possible. stay aggressive. passivity leads to mistakes.

So it's super thin value to protect the occasional Qhi bluff or do you want him to fold chops?

Do you have any opinion on how to play this vs a small stakes postflop nit (checks back turn a bunch)?
