The description says PieceOfCake when his name is actually Peesocake. Not a big deal, just letting you know Smile

Also, the echo on his end made it a bit hard to understand him. Was he using a built-in microphone? I realize I can't expect everyone to have a USB mic, but it's something to consider.

Other than those minor complaints, great vid! Would love to see more at 200NL.

His screenname and DC nickname are both Peesocake. Not sure what you mean?

I think my Long Island accent threw him off. I can't change the description myself but I sent an email to have it fixed. It might take a few days because of Thanksgiving.

Judging by the ratings, people don't like this one as much as the past two episodes. Anything I can do to make it better for you all in the future?

I think he might've used a standing mic, because there was an echo. I had trouble hearing him at points as well. There just isn't much I can do when the member doesn't have a great sounding mic, unfortunately. Do you think I'm better off just recording myself in the future if the sound quality isn't good?

The sound on his part makes it difficult indeed to understand and it becomes a bit of a hassle to put in the effort to focus on watching the vid. This was however especially in the beginning, rest of the vid sthief does most talking and the content is interesting actually.

Not imo. It would be sad to be without the discussion.
Maybe make sure they atleast have headsetsSmile (you could also "audio test" them before taking on the video)

Hi,

Jee, yeah, the audio is superbad, I'm very sorry for that. I didn't have the headset, and I didn't imagine the audio would be this horrible. Again, my apologies. The silly thing is, I do have a headset, it just didn't occur to me. Real bummer.

It's a shame though, because sthief09 had some very interesting points, that I have already used to my advantage by the way, like 3betting shortstacks small when they raise from late position (works very well), and not messing with them too much when they raise from EP.
Also, an another important point that has stuck with me, is not giving up when you have a decent hand vs a pf agressor that cbets his whole range, even though the board is scary. It's actually amazing how often they give up once their aggression is met with a call on the flop.

Yeah I did what I could for the audio, but I can only do so much. I've changed the nickname/screename in the description, my bad on that.

I think it makes for a much better vid to have the person who recorded it commenting too, so if at all possible I'd keep it as is. I'd imagine the poor ratings are because of the audio quality, which is unfortunate.

I just want to make it clear that I enjoyed the content in the ep. The audio was unfortunate and I think anyone who is speaking in a video should be required to have a headset, but this was probably my fav ep of the season so far so don't think I didn't like it Smile

I can't listen to this. The audio is terrible. Can it be rerecorded to make it viewable?

High quality headset

The link above takes you to the headset that I use. It is 1 step below what DC uses, but it is still fantastic and is about half the price. Just in case anyone wants to be in a future video Smile

Peesocake, did you create your HUD or did you get that from somewhere? I'm using a customized version of the advanced HUD off the PT3 forums but I like your pop ups much better.

The audio from Peesocake is horrible and was such a chore to hear that I switched off the video a few minutes in despite having a consuming interest in the topic of the video.

I know DC has a commitment to producing high quality videos but the quality control process has gone awry recently for a number of videos. I respectfully suggest that the DC management team needs to rethink this issue. I would prefer that a scheduled release was delayed while production issues were fixed rather than have a timely release of a substandard production. The quality of the poker content of DC videos is not an issue here. That is why I passed on the opportunity to join one of the competing sites. It should be obvious, however, that great poker content can be ruined by poor video production values.

My constructive suggestion is that DC needs to have a production template that is used by all participants. By now, the DC team should be aware of the most common issues that affect the quality of the finished product and how those issues can be avoided. Such a template would reduce the chances of, for example, Peesocake possessing a decent quality headset but not using it simply because he didn't know better. Equally, style guides are not solely in the domain of the text based publishing industry. Additionally, a panel of video testers could be a last line of defence against quality control issues.

While I don't regret joining DC, I will say that my impression is that there is still some work to be done by the DC management team to eliminate a sense of DC being a bunch of poker guys who happen to make poker videos.

For all of that, I must thank DC for some amazing poker content.

Best regards.

I think for now on I'm just going to record the video myself if I feel the audio isn't up to a certain standard. All the EPs and I believe the coaches as well, have been provided with high quality headsets. We're always trying to get the members involved, and in those cases we just have to go with the equipment the member is using. For the rest of this series, I'll just have to hold the member audio quality to a higher standard. I do think the process you're suggesting is basically already in place. Evidently I showed bad judgment here by letting him record the video with me. That's my bad, and in the future I'll just record myself.

I'm going to re-record this one because I hate for people to try to watch and be turned off by the audio. I'll send you a PM when it's up.

To all: I'm going to re-record this video, probably tomorrow. If you found it unwatchable, look out for a new version of this released in the next 2 days.

I just wrote this in the above post, but in the future I'll just record myself if the member's quality isn't very good.

Gulp, I'm very sorry guys. And to you too Josh, really sorry about this. The vid IS unwatchable...

-> Wreck: yeah, I made the HUD myself. I got annoyed at PT3 for delaying and delaying, so one afternoon I decided to just go ahead and do it.
It's not that hard though. You just import the stats from the repository on the PT3 website, and you build your HUD. It's actually fun to do, in a sense that you become aware of which stats are available.
