Cool, second time this week an old student of mine is in a video series. Really great to see another student doing well at the next level. I agree with Josh's sentiments regarding these hands, for the most part.
One comment on the KQo hand at 11.50. I would be raising the flop if I wanted to exercise some pot control as the vast majority of the time these players will donk/call raise/check turn and we have the option to proceed however we wish. When we call villain will often continue to donk big on the turn and river. Given the board texture I don't think a raise would be bad. However, your relative hand strength is so great that I think calling, knowing that he's going fire 3 barrels a large amount, is also fine, taking into account what you know about villain's play thus far.
Nice HUD by the way!

that ecco on the audio tilted me pretty hard
had to re-watch a few parts, but great video
Yeah sorry about that, I worked the audio for a couple hours and this was the cleanest it was going to be, hopefully not too detrimental.

It's definitely an interesting spot. It's not often that you're presented with a couple of very compelling (and profitable) options. I'm definitely okay with a call for all the reasons you mentioned. A reason for calling I didn't mention in the video is that you can delay your option of whether to call or raise another street. Since he's likely to follow through on the turn, you can get a little more information. For one, we can see whether he bets and if so, how big. Also, because of the coordination of the flop, the turn card will have a large effect on our equity.

Thanks Rusty. Sorry about the audio everyone. It didn't sound too bad when we were recording the video, but the right side of my headset is broken so maybe that's why I didn't notice the echo.

AQ , QQ7
I understand why your cbetting here and vs this villian who might be likely to question a check back on the flop or he might try a c/r we should be cbetting this all the time.
What about a 36/10 type player , hes not really questioning our range or wondering why we didnt cbet the flop so would a check be better against this guy ?? i know we arent going to expect a player like that to bluff the turn that often but he might pick up some sort of pair or backdoor equity that wel get 1 street of value from whereas hed prob just fold the flop.

I'm probably c-betting this flop against anyone barring a specific read. It's closer to a check vs. a looser player, but he might call your flop bet with A-high anyway. Even if he folds to a bet, there's no guarantee I get any money vs. him even if I check. When he has a pocket pair, I think I can get most of all of his stack so I want to start betting before the board gets too scary for him. A lot of my reasoning in the actual hand was for balancing (obvious that checking means you have something, and if you're checking AQ then your c-bets lose effectiveness), but I still think betting is best simply for value.
Another thing to consider is that checking could look fairly obvious even to a fishy player. Checking AQ is probably exactly what that player would do, so it's less tricky than it appears.
If you have a read that villain likes attacking weakness or usually bets the turn when you check through the flop, then by all means go ahead and check.

I got a chuckle from the 1st KQ hand. We see these hands every so often and I still get a chuckle from these huge double donk bets. I hope you own that one. My thought as a possible hand for him not mentioned in the vid was J9 for a double gutter.
Please tell us he didnt have that?
