K9 - bluffcatch

I disagree that this is a good call or even a good riverbet for that matter. I belive his bluff is very good tho (unless ur a station) and w/o deep reads this is an -EV call.

Looks sexy on the screen tho. Smile

River is a check for sure vs this opponent, hes just not shoving k7k8 there and he wouldnt peel the turn with gutters or much else on the turn. Your bet actually workd into leveling him nicely because he thought you wouldnt value bet anything other than kjk10 either the way it played. Interesting hand though for sure.

1) if villain has A8o in his range by the river a bet is gonna be +Ev

2) i would fold looking at it, however i think that if hero got some subconcious feeling a call can be fine and i think its very likely that is what happend in this situation.

no, its not.
villan doesnt have A8 by the river and fold to a bet - he will shove it everytime

Yes, the bet will be +EV if we suspect even a small part of his range is Ax peeling again because he just doesn't believe us on the turn. This type of player (or at least the player who mistrusts us enough this time to peel again w/ A8 on this texture) is plenty likely to make a big river call.

And no, A8 will rarely c/shove this river. The reason he calls the turn isn't to set up an elaborate c/shove where he can only rep a small range of hands. He calls because he thinks A8 is the best hand and hopes we will give up on the river. If your opponent is c/c w/ A8 here on the turn, I promise he will call a river bet way more often than he will c/shove w/ it. People just aren't as spazzy/sickos as you think.

Hopefully that didn't come off too harsh.
