You think having two overs and bd straight outs on any paint that lands isn't enough to cbet T55tt even w/o 3 to a J-high flush?
If this is supposed to be an instructional video (and a premium one at that) it's incredibly unprofessional.
I've given up watching at 17 minutes. You have waisted my time. There's been hardly any actual poker strategy content up until this point, and even this has been very sub-standard. I do not pay a DC subscription in order to listen a monologue about your band, your family, your bedroom etc. Clearly no thought, preparation, or even any enthusiasm went into the making of this. You sound bored, and you've bored and irritated me.

signed. Espacially in the end when you start singing and laughing when your opponent folds vs ur QQ shove on J839 ...very unprofessional

I stated right at the start that the vid caught me by surprise and to my disappointment I was unprepared for it. I also said to make up for it I will make a post in the FR forum covering all the topics I would normally discuss inbetween hands.
I discuss my personal life because I get alot of feedback from people saying they love hearing about what I'm up to as side projects and in life. I also used to love watching krantz's vids where he blabs on for ages about completely non-poker related stories and life in general. 'Where the buffalo roam' was one of my favourite series ever and every episode they opened with a (usually) non-poker related story for 2-10 minutes.
It's a shame you gave up on the vid as it's only the first 15 mins or so where I am talking about what I've been up to and my life as there is little happening on the tables. A lot of action picks up in the last 45 and I focus more on hands being played or past hands when there is a lull in action. Your loss I guess.

Sorry for having a bit of fun during the final hand of my series in a no brainer spot. I'll be sure to keep it toned down and boring for you next time :-)

It's fine aslong as you're multi barreling. I'm just talking about how with the extra BD flush possibility it's that much better.
1) i like slowlane's videos, why the hell not to talk about life? why he should be quiet when it's card dead?
and it's awesome that he has some life and can talk about it and of course, when u know him, it's good to hear something "new"
2)also his coaching is great, he's so friendly, funny, not laughing on me when i show him some stupid stupid losing charts or hands ;-D and always trying to help in a many ways.
3) so all of you that u flame him , u could make a better video or just take a look for another full ring video if u you dont like this one:-)
4) and yea i would laugh too if some guy has QK, ship it preflop and i lose my qq or call for cheap JJ to guy show me set of queens..(or whatever)we are not robots, we enjoy it and love it , at least, better than crying ;D
Man, I can't believe how negative these posts got. I enjoyed the vids in the entire series. I actually think filling dead air with the fact that he's human helps relate to the situations of his decisions. Thanks for all that you do, knowing that you don't have to do any of this for anyone if you really didn't want to. I know it's your job but I'm sure you make enough money just playing poker
Can't wait to get you as a coach to help me.

If you are not 3-betting because you think you don't get enough respect, why don't you flat against his CO open range?

K so table 1 with the AK, the UTG player opens to 5 bucks. What do you think about his bet size? I assume you just call because you give him a tight range because he's UTG, and he probably has alot of big pairs in this spot. And then you bet rather small, about 1/3 pot when you flop trips. Would you say this is standard play? I mean, what about 3 betting pre? Is cold calling here a good standard for this spot, being that the villain is UTG?

Flatting could be considered here but generally I'm not a big fan of flatting off-suit hands oop against good aggro regs who I don't have a big sample on.

His raise size should be bigger from UTG imo. I'm pretty sure I explained most of this in earlier vids. We must raise bigger from EP (3-4x) and smaller from LP (2-3x).
I just called because I knew he was a good player so 3betting an UTG o from UTG+1 really turns my hand into a bluff. He's never calling with AQ- and he'll 4b AK and QQ+ which sucks cos I'm either flipping or crushed. It's rare that I will be 3betting in this exact spot unless someone is playing loose with a low ft3b and high 4b %.
In addition, so far (though very small sample) he's either 4b or folded when being 3b so far.
I bet just 0.5bb under half pot. I'd say this is very standard here. The board isn't drawy. Both players have checked to me showing apparent weakness so it's hard to get called by anything really given that Clark would likely cbet a jack. I'd be doing the same with air.
Brief thoughts on series -
You auto assume players are going to think you are spazzing out in areas where players dont spazz out too often. Therefore i do not think you have a full grasp of the player pool at the small stakes (nl100/nl200). nl200 FR regs are still just mediocre regs, most SNE grinding therefore still play ABC for the most part. Though they are capable of folding facing spazzy plays...
You seem to be having a lot of fun making the later videos, i think this makes it more entertaining. I do find myself smiling at spots i can relate to. (Singing when i am about to stack someone). I think people who mock you for that are pathetic. Newmanmi did the same thing in his series, i enjoy hearing about coaches lives and what they do outside poker in between hands. Would the audience prefer you to be quiet or over analysis a hand????
Overall, i do think there is learning material in here, it is clear you know what you are doing.
QUESTION - Why do you turn AQo into a bluff so often in blinds vs LP open??? I hate this play for the most part and really do think it is suboptimal play vs the likes of 'ohyearbaby' and other regs who you were folding to 4bets. Vs unknowns or players you have little history on, i think flatting in the blinds is the most standard play vs a LP open unless you have reason to believe they were getting out of line, where id 5bet ship a lot. (A few months ago when i played you at nl100, you 3bet/5bet shipped 22 from btn vs co, i had been fairly aggro across all tables, i dont see how the spots in this video are any different to that)

Thanks for your constructive feedback. I wouldn't say I have the best grasp of 200nl regs on Stars yet at all. I have hardly played any at those stakes (I've played and coached a lot of 50nl/100nl) though I am starting to get a decent sample over last few weeks. I'm not sure where I have implied that people would think I'm spazzing though.
As a general rule I don't enjoy flatting off-suit hands out of position. There are obviously certain times when it is fine/good to do so but at these stakes, where I'm inclined to assume most players are atleast decent and I have no sample to tell me otherwise, I tend not to flat as I have no idea how they will play and it will be difficult to make it a +EV flat oop (thought AQ would be on the easier side to so with). It's really just a matter of personal preference.

Like when you overbet shoved with QQ vs the UTG nit with top set? You said you hope he puts you on some massive draw that you spazz out with.
I just think its more +ev to be turn/ shove river there.
Thanks for your response. ![]()

I agree but sometimes you just feel like something is gonna work and it doesn't...
Also, if you don't believe regs think people are spazzing very often then you should be overbet bluff shoving a lot :-)

The hand vs TilterMan 45 minutes in...Although its unlikely, he probly has AQ, or like you said AKcc, snap folds cos hes a nit and not gettin a good price. Obv his range is so narrow, although its a tiny sample.
Cheers for the vids. I am currently window shopping with coaching, paid for one session with Goldseraph on here and lookin on CR also. Could you drop me a MSG with details, prices etc. I am a losing/BE reg at 50NL+ but have some big goals for 2012. Need to turn the boat around! TY
