I already feel like I'm the best player as soon as I sit down in 5/10 games on FTP randomly after watching this vid.

FounderWith this simple vid and your general poker sense, you can now beat a typical 5/10 online game, I would say.

wow, very nice intro video,
I wanted to ask you why doesn't Omaha 8 or PL 8 have as many players online as in Holdem?
What do you think is the key difference in Omaha 8 vs PL 8? & does Omaha PL 8 need a bigger bankroll than the general NLH 20-25 buyins?
Thanks

Hi Joe
At 30:17 you say only continue to scoop or at least decent nut draw both ways.
How about when you only have the HI locked only because you have no low cards in your hand......ex
my hand = Ks Th 3d Qs
f= As Qd 9s
t= As Qd 9s 5s
in this situation raising the turn rather than calling would be the best play since my hand will at least win 1/2 if a baby comes on river?
thank you

FounderVery glad you enjoyed the video.
People fear Omaha, standard fear of the unknown, and it "looks" complicated. But the games are good regardless. I would say that BR is plenty for PLO8, if not less is needed since the variance is lower.

Hi Joe, I played about 15k-20k hands of Omaha 8 before starting my project with Rob late last year. At the time I was adhering pretty strictly to Steve Hutchinson's point system to determine what starting hands I could play.

adds two points to your hand, but if a donk hold 'em player only gets in trouble when they make their jack high flush then it almost seems that we'd be better off disregarding this feature (or even counting it as negative two). I know the real answer is 'don't draw to a jack high flush - you should have other reasons for being in the hand,' but I'd be curious to hear your thoughts nonetheless.
I'm wondering if you're familiar with the system and if you'd be willing to comment on it's validity. I think one weakness is that it tends to overvalue high cards when they're danglers. For example, a hand of 234J (no suits) is valued at 23 points, while 2349 (no suits) is valued at 21, but the two seem to be basically the same hand to me.
I'd also be interested to hear if you think the system overvalues non not suitedness. For example, J

FounderMike,
Stick to Ray Zee's list in his Hi/Low book. If you dont have it, you must get it before you play another hand of O8.

Thanks Joe.
Fortunately, I do have that book, and have read the O8 section. I studied a fair amount from that book, the section in Super System 2, and on gergery's site before I began playing. But I will definitely look to delve in a little more deeply before I pick the game back up.
