BalugaWhale reviews his play at $3/6 on four tables. He relates this stake level to the middle ground between $5/10 and $2/4 where you can find a wide range of opponents.

I think that beepbeepimaajew guy just had a evil plan of BalugaWhale saying that phrase in a video couple of times.
On like 40min, that 22 hand, on a QJTK2, dont you think hed bet Ax and sometimes 9x on the river, and hes ch/calling with two-pair and 9x, so itd be a valuebet a river?
Great video, am waiting for the next one.

It was not a bad quality, lil worse than usual but Andrew said everything youd need to know about stacksizes and he named his holecards.
Let's be fair, DC is such a high quality site that something like this catches people off guard. It's still better than 90% of the content on other sites, but for DC this is low quality video. That said, I don't think anything you couldn't see well was important. Baluga videos are concept videos regardless of action, he's the type of person that knows why he's doing things, and explains them as they come up. The hands are more so reminders of concepts and examples, kind of like a guideline for discussion.
That said, I think it was a pretty good video, I liked the breakdown of different limits. I think this video would have been fine as just a mp3.
Guys,
Sorry about the resolution on this. BalugaWhale is travelling in Australia and limited to his laptop for the time being. Hopefully next video will not be a 4-tabling video so the resolution won't be as bad, but unfortunately I cannot do much to fix this one.

+1.
For example the 3bet seminar makes a pretty nifty mp3 for a car.
Next video anything from 200nl to 1000nl would be fine.

it is very bad quality, this is worse than VHS
this is not 'a lil worse than usual' at all, the difference between this and other videos is huge!

i don't care about other sites. i don't pay for other sites. i pay 30$/month for dc. something like this catches people off guard because they don't expect to see bad quality like this when they pay real dollars! do you not pay money to see this? if you are how can you be happy with this vid? would you pay the same for a 2 year old car as you would for a new one? am i the only critic on this site?
Sick vid Andrew. TYVM
I'm not sure if this was on purpose, but I did notice a bet sizing tell of yours (could have been accidental the few times I saw it tho). I won't reveal it here in case it matters, but feel free to PM me ![]()
As for next vid, I would like to see 200NL, but 100NL would be good as well. But like you said in this vid, it doesn't really matter what the stakes are as it's more about the concepts than anything else.

You are entitled to your own opinion sir, but I care more about the audio quality in Baluga vids than the video quality. His thought process is one of the best out there and you don't necessarily need to have a pretty view to learn from them.

It can sometimes be hard to understand what people are really trying to say when they are communicating via a forum.
Just like you I'm very surprised to see a video where the resolution is so poor and just like you I would ask what happened. Maybe I would have used different words but that is not really important.
Taz has explained the poor quality IMO.
But that does not mean that we cannot learn something. Under the given circumstances what should DC in your opinion have done?
As simple stated, I think we can actually get value with a bet on the hand where we river a set of 2s on KQJT2. He might look up a small bet with top pair or 2 pair, but was too afraid to bet it himself. If he has us beat, I don't think he would have played it this way. So other than seeing his cards and learning how he plays, I think there is no reason not to bet. We pretty much always have the best hand and can get called by worse if we bet an amount that he can call. And it's an easy muck if he raises.

well, under the given circumstances, dc couldn't have done much more i guess..
these circumstances aren't given at all, quite the opposite i would say! andrew is probably travelling for his own amusement, so i think he should have thought of this and made a proper video before leaving.. or, in this case maybe better since it's a ghost video, get someone else to make a ghost video?

I agree that Baluga should possibly make more of an effort to make high quality vids, even if he is on vacation. But I prefer a medium quality (video quality) Baluga ghost vid over a lot of others.
As far as I know ghost vids are bonus content anyway, only complementing the official content of DC. So this ghost vid in bad resolution is very much like the cake they give you for free in the bakery in addition to your regular purchases, because they didn't get that sugar icing thing right. Often these kind of cakes taste especially delicious.
So regarding baluga's vid we have only a label problem. If the vid would be labeled as: "Extra vid of poker baluga! He is amusing himself in the desert down under but still can't resist to share some thoughts with us! Good content but öäch-quality! Watch it anyway if you like! Otherwise have a nice day!", then who is going to complain about the sugar icing?
No one ever complains about sugar icing.
The poor resolution is really nothing in comparation to the real purpose of the vid : Baluga's comments. In my opinion, he is the best video maker of DC and this new video is, as usual, amazing. So please, stop talking about the resolution issue and lets talk about poker.
I have one question for you Andrew :
100BB deep, is there a situation where you would call a 3bet out of position ? I wonder in which situation and against what kind of player it would be profitable to do so?
Same question 200BB deep.
For your next vid I would like to see you a nl1000 with relatively tough opponents to see how to exploit regs.
Thanks

AA, table4, vs fishy/tilted opponent.
why do we ever want to fold to any sort of raise against him when we are on the top of our range and he is bad and tilting on the same time?
he will tiltraise any decent queen imo and probably other funny stuff...
Don't really care about the quality. The commentary is so unbelievably good as usual in Balugawhale's videos that it more than makes up for slightly sub-par visual quality.
Great video as usual, excellent commentary.

not bonus content, it is part of the "official content of DC" and was scheduled for last friday. give BW another series next season to compensate

Would like to see a FR ghost video at midstakes (2/4-5/10 would be awesome). I think a pause-able video like this one would be good for a FR video. Loved the FR content in your coaching tree and late night coaching videos.
Thanks
hey guys,
Just wanted to drop in here from Australia and comment on this video.
First, as you guys probably know, this is the first ghost video I've done where I've recorded the play first and the audio after. This is the reason for the smaller sized screen, something I didn't realize would be an issue until I was already in the middle of recording it, but that I did try to compensate for by enunciating the stack sizes, players and player types and positions. I wanted to try doing a pausable video instead of a free flowing video because I often feel like I have thoughts that get cut off as the action keeps moving quickly. I also often feel that when I 2-table, I don't see enough hands to really properly gather content (though sometimes I do, its just spotty), so that 4-tabling allowed for more scenarios to occur.
The delay on this video is still sort of a mystery to me. I began having trouble uploading files several days before this video was originally scheduled to be released (back in the states), and only recently was able to get it through despite trying a bajillion different connections. So, sorry about that.
If it's any consolation, I will definitely be back for more series in the future
. And more ghost vids obv.
again, sorry about the resolution. The next vid will probably be me 2-tabling and talking live while I play.
Andrew

Better not, he is struggling with his existing commitments as it is, no offense.
At first I was put off by the hole cards being difficult to read but then eventually I warmed to this video due in no small part to the excellent commentary I have come to expect from you, Andrew.
With that said, sometime around 31:00 you said you always respond to PM's but I sent you one last winter about your training course that never got a response. I dunno, maybe there was a problem with the server. I'm not holding a grudge or anything, I just always wondered if you got it or not.

its true, taking advantage of my unique position in my youth and helping people get better at poker sometimes contest for my time, and recently i've been spending more time with life stuff than poker, but you can count on a lot of great content from me at DC in the future. I have a lot of new stuff that I've been formulating.
Andrew

Hey Mr. Fantastic,
Somehow that slipped through the cracks. I had to double check to make sure I'd gotten it. Sorry I missed you before, if you still have similar questions PM me with your email address and I'll get you on the mailing list for future classes/seminars/other stuff. Balugapoker stuff is more or less on hold until October (though the forum is still active and I try to answer questions there every 2-3 days)
Andrew
Hey BW,
I would love to see a 5/10 vid next.
Hey BW,

andrew, nice vid as usual and great work thoroughly articulating your thoughts
when I saw the commentaries I thought I wouldn't watch the whole video because of the video quality
but wow
pretty good stuff here
I'm really surprise with the thinking and how good it's explained in the video
I just think that you talk too fast, like if you were on drugs or something, but awesome vid anyway!

i explain this in the vid, but at the time I thought I couldn't fold vs him because I thought he'd do tilty stuff like shove a Q or funny stuff, but by the end of the session, i changed my mind and thought it would've been a fold because the guy had clammed up so much. So, put it this way-- had he shoved, that time I would've called. Had the exact situation come up at the end of the video, I would've folded.
Andrew
In the grand scheme of thing as deuces cracked as a product nothing is ever "bonus". The site is a package as a whole that is being marketed and paid for based on it's value. I will say this though. A low res baluga vid is way more +EV than a high res crap video like many of them at cardruners...
Hey baluga, at 32:17 you fold your top pair bad kicker (JT), stating as reason he would not cbet on this board 3way unless he has something good. But in my experience, which of course is not by a long shot as big as yours, bad limping players cbet ANY board, HU or multiway when they finally do raise a hand. It seems somehow they expect you to fold all kinds of hands, because he finally did raised a hand. I've seen bad players cbetting flops like JT8dd and checkfolding a blank turn. Also, when i think back of myself in the beginning, i used to cbet 100% (tho i dont think i ever openlimped mind you
)... Isn't this one of the most occuring leaks of players? Now i know you don't use stats; but if i had to guess judging on what i have in my database, i think at least 90% of the limping, passive, calling station type players have a 100% cbet%.
Now as i'm typing all of this, i am thinking... and what is my question exactly? Hmm
I guess i'm seeking confirmation or deniance by you again and maybe some other players ![]()
For the next ghost vid, i'd to see some 100NL action ![]()
Keep up the good work, all great vids, my game improved massively thanks to you.
i think at least 90% of the limping, passive, calling station type players have a 100% cbet%
I would have to disagree with this. If you are limp/calling as a passive player, then you can't cbet. A cbet is done by the preflop raiser. Also, if a passive player DOES raise, he has a hand and they don't have a tendency to bluff very often, especially multiway. What Baluga was saying is that JTs plays well against his range, but he's not playing the hand hoping to hit top pair. Once villian bets on that board multiway, his range is heavily weighted towards hands that crush JT.
Eh, no, the 100% cbet% is for when he DOES raise obv
Anyway... I dont agree with the "when he does raise, he has a hand" ... Of course, sometimes they do, but also sometimes they like to limp-call a raise with AA/KK and use the raising button, only to "mix it up" with random trash. With these kind of players, i've learned you can never be sure of their range.
If someone is mixing it up by raising random trash, I think you may have incorrectly assigned him as a passive player ![]()
why? i'm taking about 60/4 players ![]()
Someone raising 4% of their hands means they are probably only raising QQ+ and AQ+. If they decide to get tricky w/ AA/KK sometimes, then we can throw in JJ and KQ too. I just don't see a 60/4 raising 68o enough for me to put that in his range. And if he does decide to randomly raise that hand, the chances he is raising it AND cbetting into 2 people are VERY small.
Alright, that makes sense.
I win!
Just kidding, glad I could help
Not sure if it all made sense, but I tried.
Have a great time in Oz Andrew. Don't steal too many of our women with your balla pokah lifestyle.
Love some of the concepts you discussed - as usual.
Surfs up.
Where in Oz ru atm Baluga?
Great vid, Andrew.
I thought the 6/3 hand was a very interesting spot.
For your next vid, I'd like to see a Full Ring vid, preferably a $100NL vid.
I know you said your next vid will probably be 2 tabling and talking live but if you can figure out what the problem was making this vid, I think it'd be great as I really enjoyed the format of this vid.
Thanks!

Balugawhale, what do you think about check/shoving?
when we check on such a wet board, he often thinks that we just give up and bets his entire range. betting is thin. we have the worst TP, there are only a few Tx hands in his range (probably only AT), KQ has massive equity, by checking, we trap a lot of dead money from worse hands in the pot.
