BTW, just so you all know, you might run even worse than that. As long as you know it's possible, dont let it effect your ability to consistently play your A-game.

How many of the midstake/highstake winning players are still recreational, do you got an idea about that?

good question. I'm honestly not sure but I'd guess some number between 30 and 50% but I could be convinced otherwise with some good arguments.

I suppose if recreational is defined as anything that is not full time pro then that's prob an accurate guess but a good chunk of those recreational players are tough students and serious part timers

I haven't watched many of the episodes in this series, but after reading the synopsis I thought I'd check this one out.

This morning I was dreading my hour long bus ride to school but having this video in the background actually made the trip fun. It was one of the best and most interesting videos I've seen in a long time. Lots of worthwhile tidbits and useful ideas were presented that I enjoyed listening to. WoT is very well spoken and has a soothing voice, sort of like a younger version of Tommy Angelo.

Regarding the red line, at micro-small stakes I actually think the number one biggest issue is that people don't valuebet thinly enough. When we valuebet thinly, we 1) win bigger pots to add more to our blue line, and 2) win MORE pots the times our opponent folds his piece of cheese, which helps the red line.

Aaaaaaaand dammit you just mentioned this as I was typing it. LOL. Good vid so far.

Thanks for the comment on locking up wins. I failed to do this last night, to the detriment of my mood today. I've actually read the exact opposite advice from another sick player, so I always felt a little guilty quitting for this reason.

it's the type of thing that really needs to be taken in the context of your current skill level + mindset + end goals. If the goal is to maximize ev in every scenario, then yea locking up wins is no good. Most of us aren't this robotic in the real world though.

thanks for watching.

Yes, this was a very good episode to wrap up a great series. This should be one of the first video series a Deuces Cracked member watches. You could probably make an entire series devoted to "going pro" ... hrm Smile

n0whereman suggested I watch this series to help me work on the fundamentals and to become a better student of the game. Definitely the most informative video I could have watched starting out. Since watching this series, I got involved in a secret HQ group and am reviewing member vids on a weekly basis to help me work on my hand reading and analysis. I also took tons of sticky notes on each Haj School vid Smile Thanks WiltOnTilt. This video series has really helped me to focus on more than just the playing but the 'homework' away from the table that's really 10 times more valuable and going to be the difference in helping me become part of that 8% of winning poker players.

I was stuck like $3500 and grouchy when I started watching this, and within like 15 minutes of watching the "what to do when you run bad" section, I was unstuck and happy again Smile You're the man, Wilt!

Thanks for the good series. Not everything was breathtaking, as I knew already a lot of that stuff, but still I really felt like you helped me with this series. :-)
