I think HU chatting with bad regulars is a lot +EV because some tilts badly and the same is true 6max against some medium opponents.
He played it fine, no one is ever folding QQ here in 6max games. Hard to say how good or bad his call is without knowing more about Hero but I wouldn't expect him to fold.

I think given your stack size you have to shove this flop. At this point after he bets 500 the pot is 965 + 500 and you have 1000 behind. You have top pair/ top kicker in a 4bet pot....
