10/20 river decision

Hi new to this site. I am really hoping I can get some help with river play in this spot.
Limper is huge fish 75/25 type of guy
Villain is 28/22 6 handed with 40/52 SD stats after 1600 mostly datamined hands. No real reads but he seems like your solid 30/20 \"I read 2p2\" kind of guy.
So the hand (Couldnt get the comverter working for party)
6-handed. hero has QJss in the BB
CO calls, Villain raises, SB folds, Hero calls, CO calls
Flop ~6.5SB
4s2cQc
Villain bets, Hero c/r, CO folds, villain calls.
Turn ~5.25BB
4s2cQc 7h
Hero bets, Villain calls
River ~7.25BB
4s2cQc7h Ac
Hero..?
I seriously suck at river play and these spots isnt helping. He is fairly SD bound but I really dont know if he calls pp\'s here. I am pretty sure he has a lot of Ax in his range that he wanted to call down on non club turn/rivers.
Please tell me that this spot sucks and no poker player will ever manage to play it right...

Post edited by: Oink, at: 2007/07/10 11:33

I hate these spots. They seem to be \"had to be there\" type hands... Is this one of those spots, where you are better off betting than calling? He may spike his A, but still not raise that board and if he does raise it\'s an easy fold. Will he fold a better hand or call with a worse one?
I want to add that against this guy I think a call is more correct if he raises my bet than if he bets if checked to. I am pretty sure that he is capable of turning his low pp into a bluff by raising.
I think its a bet but him possibly bluff raising is certainly eating up value. Dunno... I hate poker
Oink I agree with all your thoughts so far in this thread (its a tough spot, he\'s more likely to bluffraise than bluff bet, etc). I would check/fold the river if playing well because I feel on this particular flop/turn he is going to give you more action with any pair. His hand looks completely like ace high that would have probably called you down unimproved. It is indeed a crappy spot though.

This spots sucks for sure. The play is to check, even though rare (however, more prevalent online) you do not want to be bluff raised, you can afford a check through as not many worse hands will pay off. But, the times you pick up a desperation bluff bet are priceless, check the river.
EDIT!! I didn\'t\' see the flush come in! The play is still to check, and unfortunately fold.

Post edited by: Joe Tall, at: 2007/07/12 11:21
Joe and DD,
Did you notice the A is a club completing the flush draw.
I\'d say the options here dependent upon how well opponent plays river.
I agree that c/f might be ok, but when you check the club you\'re setting yourself up.
