i'm fine with the flop play.
I don't like say that there's no room for this kind of thing at 1/2 and its definitely incorrect to say that you can't bluff at 1/2.
That said, there is no room for this kind of play in poker. Your opponent isn't betting thin enough to make you want to c/r bluff here even if you were shoving for like 500-600 more. Most of the bluffing you do should be trying to bluff people off weak hands like better high card and 2nd and 3rd pairs. Getting people off top pair even at higher stakes is like pulling teeth.

There's no money in the pot when you start your bluff, you don't have a lot of equity, you are out of position, you are against an opponent who doesn't like to fold, you have an image of someone who likes to make moves. There's just no reason to make the flop check/raise.

Whats ur rationale in support of the flop play?
Outside of 2 pairs, Villain's range probably contains a lot of weak Ax and maybe some 8x given that he didn't raise preflop. We have a lot of cards that we can bluff that help out perceived range and the cards that do improve us are pretty deceptive.
