Yeah but SPR would be about 2 on the flop, so he's going with pretty much some sort of piece. We have a pair of nines, after all.

Exactly, so when we hit a set we get in great.

We don't hit the set that often, and no we dont have implied odds when we have an SPR of 2 and quite often need to stick in a bluff cbet, too.

With double pair hands you hit a set about 1/4 times I think. We do have implied odds. If we flop a set we are able to get his whole stack if he flops a piece too. You're risking $5.50 to possibly win his whole stack. Just because we 3Bet doesn't mean we have to fire a CBet. I don't understand why you keep bringing up that we need to. If we get a bad flop, then X/F.

Agree fully with Osterror. 9922ss has terrible flop distribution so we are basically counting on hitting a set or taking it down with a c-bet. A big % of our EV for 3-betting comes from fold equity and taking down flops neither of us hit very well. Since he's short, his stack-off range on the flop is much wider, which is not what we want this hand. It's much better to stick to 3-betting shorties with straight-up value hands and dominate their pairs/draws on the flop since there's no room to make any moves post-flop if we have to.
