Even if we eliminate JJ/TT from his turn calling range, that doesn't leave a lot left for him to call the turn with that we really beat other than 9x, which is counter fit to the board and may not continue to bluff catch/draw because of it.

I don't see the point in isolating QJo vs a superior range by betting if we can check thru' the turn and value bet the river where he's even more likely to bluff catch inelastically with 9x or 88-33 (but seriously who calls the flop with 88-33 on this board, it's terrible?)

I think we can just continue to barrel KJ, KT without "thin value betting" QJ, QT, especially if he can't call us with JJ-TT and may not call us with 9x, and just check/call vs his floats or take his money on the river. I mean if he's one of those guys who can't turn any showdown value into a bluff here, most of 9x can't draw out vs us and he decides to be a hero with garbage like 88 we're doing pretty good here by giving him 2 out redraw if his bet size sensitivity on the river decreases (it usually does in my experience because there isn't a remaining street left) and his calling frequency increases.

It might no be "balanced" considering the number of hands we're value betting vs the number of straight draws, but honestly who cares?

i'd rather make a 'bad' bet in isolation than get caught checking Qx on the turn. possibly the most important spots where you should not give up that you are unbalanced are the ones that will be seen the most often and that will yield the most useful info.

do you really think a 100nl player will not capable of adjusting to a weak valuebetting range here? i'm not suggesting you're going to get slayed, just that the "badness" of betting QJ in isolation (for balance) is probably outweighed by the meta concerns.

Do you think any of that is relevant at 100nl, let alone in 6max, and your opponent will actually know whether or not it's your standard line, an opponent specific line or at what frequency you do it at?

Seriously, who cares about balance here as anything other than an intellectual exercise.

hard to say, honestly

i do think it is folly to underestimate your opponents in spots that could potentially reveal a lot about your game and little about yours, and it's something people at SSNL do too often. there are plenty of places to give people little credit and to proceed as if they are terrible, but i'd prefer being a little more in-line in the ones that are more likely to go to showdown and that could say a lot about my approach to exploiting them.
