Depends if you mean the American or the Swedish version of The Killing. The Swedish one was boss!

Some good shows listed, a couple that I think are great as well are:
Psych
Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. = <3 food
The Wire is number 2 for me behind Breaking Bad. The Wire is amazing how everything comes together and it really makes you think, but it's not quite as an enjoyable watch if that makes sense. Either way, it's really close.
+11111
I gave Mad Men 3 seasons and still couldn't really get into it.
I only made it half way through the first season of mad men and it seems like your typical family drama, plus none of the characters seemed very interesting. Does it get any different later on?
No one mentioned "The Killing" yet? One of my all time favorites.
The show that made me laugh me most is "It's always sunny in Philapelphia" by far. I guess it depends on your kind of humor, I had to get used to it for a season or two, but after that it cracked me up all the time.
I just recently finished the 2 seasons of The Killing. I liked it, but I don't think it's close to getting in my top 5.
I also love It's Always Sunny. Probably my favorite comedy of all-time.
Just started Deadwood....looks very promising.
I recently started Boardwalk Empire and I've heard it's slow so I'm giving it a chance.
I've heard good things about Deadwood and Rome and might try them at some point.
@zach, what is your 3-5 on your list?
How is everyone such fans of walking dead? That show is some of the worst trash ever put on television.
Also, I have been in China for 8 months have no idea what has been on TV since the end of last year. FML I miss America.

I would say probably Game of Thrones and Dexter are in there. I'm not sure what else.
I liked Boardwalk Empire a lot once it got going. Stick with it imo. I also enjoyed Rome, it was good not great. Personally, I would probably watch Deadwood first. Even though I've only watched 3 episodes I can tell it's likely going to be very good.
I really want to want to try Mad Men at some point, but every time I want to start a new show, I just read the plot and think it sounds kind of boring. And some of the comments on here aren't really encouraging...

Never seen it, but everyone keep saying that it's amazing. Personally, I'm not a fan of zombie shows/movies.
Oh yea, I've been meaning to watch Dexter too. That's on Netflix streaming right?
So Boardwalk Empire & Dexter, then Deadwood and maybe Rome.
Oh, and I've heard True Blood is good?

Sounds like a plan. I can't really comment on True Blood as I don't really like vampire movies/shows either.
