For the record... I usually DO play with fire while playing poker. It has rarely let me down.

Maybe we should get a 5nl game on the go. Minimum requirement is that everyone's drunk. Might be quite amusing.

look at it as a way to let loose. as long as your playing small enough stakes where your really not losing anything like nl5 or somthin . everytime you play its discipline...you want to play hands you know u shouldnt and now you can do whatever you want. Im not saying do it alot because its just burning money but if you grind alot it could be a good experiment imo.

only tourney I have ever won was when I was drunk. Actually fell asleep in the middle of it, woke up and realized I'm still in - finished first an hour later.never played drunk again.
Vegas I had a 48 hour session going - was drunk twice ;-) fun times!

I do the same- I actually get nitty when I'm drunk. I think I'm overcompensating - playing drunk is never good for your game though I lost plenty when I first started playing before I realized this. Now I just play MTT's with VIP points if I am drunk and feel the urge.

The odd times I've played after 1-2 beers I think I've actually played pretty well - mellows me out a somewhat to bad beats or having to make a big fold on the river. Not really a sustainable habit though

I get drunk as hell and play .5/10 live with my friends all the time ever since online poker has been gone in teh states. However, all of my friends suck at poker so I still have a big advantage. I'd never get hammered and go to a casino or anything.

I think this is just purely based on having enough discipline to not do stupid things like playing drunk, if you are trying to take poker serious. Being disciplined is the most important thing to me right now so I would never allow this to happen. That said, I doubt I would actually quit if it did somehow happen.
