where is this mysterious game? I downloaed the update but still cant find zoom anywhere!!
interesting thing for me about it being a rake trap is you could view it as indirectly good for the game. We should want Pokerstars to be a huge powerful company capable of legimitising internet poker.
Paying them rake is in a way like a tax on our winnings for a professional association to organise, promote and provide a playing field for us to enjoy our 'sport'. Like subs in Sunday league football.
And the bigger they get the more customers there will be.
I think this is a bit of a shortsighted way of looking at it, you seem to be assuming that the games are beatable. If the games are unbeatable (aka rush poker plo at full tilt) then what good is a huge player pool?
Coming from the view point of someone who never plays on Stars I'm pretty pleased to see Rush back on Stars in particular. Unless they gimp the points when playing Zoom then it shouldn't be as hard to obtain SNE+also have a life. It's also pretty fun some of the time. If I were a regular on Stars I wouldn't be that happy.
yep I was assuming the games were beatable.

On the tab with the type of game holdem - omaha - stud -other - zoom - tourney - ...
IMO, this is great for the iPad or iPhone. But after playing it quite a lot today. I can't imagine that it is good for anyone's poker game. It felt like a bit of a lottery at times. Only being able to 4 table kinda sucks too.
I'm wondering if the change in Rake to contributed was partially with this release in mind.

Only 4? How many would you like to play?
Would be interested to see how many hands/hour people get as they play more tables, because there are diminishing returns, on 2 tables I can fold instantly when i want to, but on 6 tables it's going to take longer, and the speed of folding trash is where most of the speed comes from.

Yeah that would make a lot of sense.
With 4 I was folding instantly.
The other side of raising multitable cap is then the 1tabling fish are thined out again as with normal play.
I'm being a bit pedantic but with 2 tables I can fold trash as quickly as my reaction time allows about 0.25 seconds. I just tried and with 3 tables I was much slower and it maybe pushed my average about 0.5 seconds or more. As the speed is weighted towards folding trash at some point adding tables won't improve your rate of hands or winrate.
As zoom is all about grinding hands I'd be interested to find out what rate winning/breakeven players can achive for each amount of tables.
I personally don't find 4 overbearing at all. That being said I tend to prefer FR rush or zoom to 6max because I think the fish pool is way bigger. Its pretty clear that its much easier to play 1000 hands an hour zoom4tabling while tilled then it is 16 tabling. I notice noticeably less eye fatigue myself.
Whilst I agree with what your saying. There's still times in LP where we have to wait for it to be folded round. Plus in the BB, we can be waiting.
