Allright, so here's the thing. DC has helped me a great deal over the last year or so while I've been a member so it's time for me to step up and give some back. I'm a professional programmer and have been for *cough* years. Lets just say a long time. I've had recruiting agents argue with me that C++ wasn't invented yet in the year I started learning it (it was of course but was pretty new then). I first learned to program since I was about 7 years old and have worked in just about every language under the sun. I paid my way through my music postgrad by doing programming stuff and when my tendon problems meant I couldn't play professionally any more I just worked as a programmer and have done ever since. If people want to learn what I suggest is that they form a study group, pick one language (python would be a good choice for group study in this context imo), add everyone who wants to do it to a skype group, and everyone follow a particular book or web based course.

I'll join the group and drop in and help when people have questions or stuff they're finding hard etc. I can't say I'll be super-active because I'm pretty busy and in spite of my best efforts I just never seem to have much time for anything. My skype name is the same as my dc name.

If there wasn't luck in coding, I'd compile every time!
