I dont know how to post a hand history other than typing out exactly what happened on every hand. If I was playing at $5/$10 I bet the poeple in those stakes are less likely to call PF raises with 7-2o. In the micros poeple call everything in every situation. every hand goes to a showdown so you have to be lucky to win. There is zero skill involved in that sort of poker. sure if I'm lucky i'll win some money but chances are that I will only get lucky every 100-200 hands and even then Im more than likely going to lose that money to an idiot playing some crappy hand
You should be able to preserve your hand histories through your poker gaming interface. These are supposed to be saved on your computer.
Find them, copy the whole text of the hand, click "Insert a Hand History" in your DC posting GUI, and copy/paste them.

poker itself isn't gambling. I see the amount of skill it takes to win money. BUT at the micro limits, there is no skill involved. U either get lucky or you don't. if 90% of the hands go to a showdown that isn't skill. thats a card game that ends up similar to black jack except you don't play against the house

beating the micros isnt about strictly following a startegy. its a time of development that every player has to go through, where you learn the concepts of poker and the "why" behind those concepts.
sure it might be the right play to iso raise with K8o from the button. but until you can understand why you do that, and under what situations it might be better to do something else you are just going to get more and more frustrated.
so ur the type. If I raise preflop and someone calls with K8o then of course I'll be upset. WTF are you doing in the hand with K8o? You are HOPING that you hit a flop. You are gambling. and you hit the flop and beat my strong hand with some crap. its unbeatable

ok well that isn't going to help me stop the fish from beating me all the time with garbage like 8-5o. I get beat by that crap 95% of the time I have a good hand. some people are more lucky than others and they are the ones who win money

hi i just joined after reading this whole topic. i had to put my 2 cents in.
firstly your obviously new and probably dont know or understand half the advice you have been given here.
i was in your situation 4 years ago . trying to make small amounts of money like u see everyone on tv doing. however they are pros and KNOW what there doing after years of practice and research.
you are right about the micros . you cant learn or earn much there.. as everyone is playing erratically and probably are just like u dont now the basics. calling anything , going all in with 7 2 and so on.
you say u dont have the$$ to waste learning so dont.
How i learned with no mentor to show me the ropes after falling to learn or earn in the micro stakes was to instead of trying to make $$ i decided to learn to play better and properly. did my research internet is free.
Now all the pros here will probably laugh or disagree. but i learned to play BETTER by playing the freeroll tournaments with 10,000 entrants. and also the freeroll sit and go tournys with 27 and 45 entrants was a big help. stop trying to make $$ if u cant afford it and just get some experience first.
Now the problem is like with the micros in these freeroll tournys over 50-70% of the people arnt playing serious or just dont care so u get the same problems as the micro. however if your still alive after the first say 5-6000 people go out which usually dosnt take that long then u can start to learn some skills or tricks and pick up on what people are doing like in the advice from people above.
back when i was learning i remember playing a freeroll torny for 4-5 hours and coming in the top 100 out of 10,000 many times. it gets your confidence up, and your learning for free...the same with the sit and go s out of 45 once u can get to the finale table almost every time or the top 10-15% in the bigger freerolls then you will be ready to make some $$ and will have a way better understanding of position and ranges and u wont just be sitting around waiting for AA KK QQ which might be what your doing now..
If you have watched poker on tv and have been trying to play like that it wont work . understand your watching a FINAL table playing for hundreds of thousands if not millions . they are playing a lot tighter than through out the tourny as its the final table.. they dont play like that normaly in my humble opinion.
hope this helps u. in conclusion try learning to play in the cheap or free tournys and sit and go s. it helped me get an understanding of the game through practice and time put in.

Ill admit im a beginner but Im not an idiot. I dont just wait for the premium hands. of course I play them when I get them. I'll open up my selection in LP with weak action before me. In early position I don't play quite as many hands because of all the people left to act after me Id rather be in that spot with a strong hand. but anything you guys are saying about ranges and blah blah blah, none of it applies to the micros at all. NONE of it. Your hand selection means squat because somebody will call you down to the river on every single hand. so there is officially no way to "build" a bankroll. You have to be rich to start with I guess for this game. I don't have $5,000 to sit down at a big table and play. so i am screwed pretty much.

this is what i mean. you dont understand yet that it can be a profitable situation with K8o.
if you want to get better you should try to listen to the people on here who are trying to help you.

yea it can be profitable if you get lucky and hit something. But you can also hit a king and be out kicked. but if you are lucky enough to play that garbage and hit, then yes it can be profitable. If you are sitting there preflop and deciding to play this hand because at this specific time it may hit, its just like spinning that wheel on the price is right, you may hit. but you may not. it makes more sense to play better hands

Actually it will help you tremendously, because I suspect that many of these hands not played optimally, as much you being coolered. You shouldn't take this as me dissing you; I play bad hands too, we all make mistakes here, I post them here and I get schooled - for free. And yet I make money, and you don't. Guess what, I was in your place years ago when I started at 2NL and got coolered mad. Many of us here were when we started.
The aim is that with learning and experience these mistakes decrease, leaks get fixed, and more and more you take decisions that you can sleep soundly upon, even if the results turn bad. And accept that sometimes, you get a monster hidden under your bed and lose all your stack.
If it's strictly that, and you played optimally then you are just being on the bad side of variance. But I suspect also that you simply do not give any credit to your opponents when they raise you back. Against an unknown at these stakes a raise means that they have something big, and that you must reevaluate your hand before treading further. Now if you have reads that this player is a maniac shoving with total bluffs and bottom pair, then go ahead!
One of the biggest leaks in microstakes is overplaying one's TPGK, or even TPTK, and thinking we have the nuts because our AK hits its A on the flop.

if you are playing K8o because you think it might get lucky, you are worse than I am at this game. I don't know much but I know that K8 is not very strong and there is a lot of hands that can and will beat it. Since you will get called down to the river no matter what, K8o isn't what I wanna be holding

So? You beat weak player by not bluffing them off their hands but making a better hand then them and charging them maximum to see it at the showdown. Just wait for a big hand to take to the showdown and clean them out, simple as that. How it isn`t a skill to wait hour after hour disciplined folding while watching all the crazy splashing around, get a hand get a bad beat and still be prepared to wait hours if it takes for another big hand?

with that strategy I win one hand every 3 or 4 hours...AT BEST so winning one hand a day really doesn't make it worth the hours of sitting there and folding. Especially when that one pot was only fifty cents. so fifty cents a day on average, I can have enough money to play a real live game in about 40 years. Theres gotta be a better way

All I can say is that there is no way I am as bad as my bankroll reflects. I know Im not great, I have plenty to learn about the game. But there is no way I am as bad as things look. I make mistakes yes, I make bad calls or raises. But I also play some hands very well and I never win with those either.
