right it's (450+189):450 not 189:450... little worse than 3-2
That's what I did. It's $450 to call to win $639 right? Isn't that 1.42:1? Last I checked that came out to 70.4% or am I crazy?

Isn't it more like 44%?
Nevermind, got it...is it 58.67%?

With no money in the pot, a river call would need 50% equity, so it's impossible for you to need more than 50% to call a river bet unless you have to call more than the guy bet.
450/(450+639)=41%
450/(450+639)=41%
Thanks for the clarification. The math side is still something that I'm trying to work on improving.
I just didn't know that you had to add our $450 to the pot. I was just doing $450/$639
or 41.32%
Yeah. It can never be >50%.

The way I remember it is Risk/(Risk + Reward).
If you calling for a chop, you can be laying odds.

Here's a handy sanity check, barring odd circumstances you don't need more than 50% equity to call in a cash game.
It's 450 to win 1089 or 41.32%. I really do appreciate this guys. I am used to being the new guy though and in this game, it's been my experience that it's important to question and defend yourself.
