In this case it wasn't a DOJ action, rather the Department of Homeland Security seized funds in transit from a US payment processor and additionally sent Everleaf a cease and desist order.
Everleaf then made the decision to ban US players from it's network.

I'm playing on merge by default and I just hope the rumoured legislation goes through and we can all join hands and sing kumbaya again. Man I miss instant neteller deposits and super fast withdrawals.

Hmm. This makes it seem unlikely that Maryland will pass any online poker legislation in the near future....stupid Maryland!
At least I have poker in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
Remember when the online player pool was everyone?

I don't blame Neil for leaving. The trolls over at 2+2 act like children. In all likelihood the delay in returning the funds involves the logistics in getting the money to the players rather than Homeland Security. US players made up only a small percentage of Everleaf's player pool so it is unlikely that they don't have the funds.

yeah, i wasn't making a value judgment on Neil leaving. that thread is a screeching madhouse. i was just confused what "let the network deal with it" meant.
so on a poker network, the network holds the funds rather than the rooms?

I think so. On Merge, the network holds the funds for most of the skins but not all of them. So Carbon for example has no real input into cashouts whereas Lock has complete control over them. Everleaf probably is handling things for Mint.
At times I've been severely trolled over at 2+2; it's exasperating.
