Not sure I agree, but that is irrelevant because I was using an analogy where we are making a prediction about future events when we are discussing events that happened in the past.
i'm not attacking your point, merely backing it up. i meant if one sees the two choices as equally valid, then that's a failure to think probabilistically.

No, SCS. They are not both equally valid.
I do think that the arguments for 9/11 not being a 'goverment job' are better then the arguments of the conspiracy-side. I just don't believe you can say 'no, it's 100% not possible that it was a goverment job', or 'no, it was 100% a goverment job'.
Ok, perhaps I misunderstood what you were saying.
In this case, it might be good to not 100% believe the goverment and everything they say. I think its good to listen to the other side no matter how weird it might come across from your own worldview.
I can't speak for anyone else, but the reasoning for believing the official explanation is that the evidence supports it. The fact that it coincides with the governments explanation is irrelevant. I have also seen no evidence to support any alternative scenarios. The 9/11 conspiracy theorists can't even agree to how the conspiracy happened.
And please, don't act like this debate was for the benefit of the world. This thread is a typical 'i am right, and you are wrong' "debate", where people where getting insulting towards eachothers calling eachother idiots and retarted and what not.
Thats not a debate, thats just being dumb, young and not able to discuss things respectfully. And if you then look at how many people died during that awful day, it's kind of a pathetic debate, which is what i meant with: Does it really matter, people died. It was a terrible day. No matter what.
This is usually what happens in a debate when someone asks the same questions over and over again while ignoring anyone who answers them.
And yes, it absolutely matters how people died.

it sure seems to matter to Acomb. he thinks the US Govt killed its own people. you tell him it doesn't matter. he's spreading this hate message and cloaking it in respectability and niceness. a bigot in a nice suit is still a bigot. i ain't falling for that noise.

I think it was a pretty interesting documentary The Global Warming Swindle
Yeah. That movie completely changed my perspective on the religious money-grabbing control freaks that what to influence every consumer decision on the planet.
Full Movie is worth watching for believers and non-believers......Global Warming Swindle
GW is another example of good intentions going extreme -- and not having a reverse gear -- or fair debates. WHY? Fervent believers following. What would happen if Pope Gore was publicly proven completely wrong? Scammer. World control would stop (UN/IPCC resolutions) and global money would stop flowing towards the GWarming and Pope Gore's pet projects.
====================
OK. Sorry to distract from the main thread. I couldn't help myself.

Yes. They died horribly. We all seen the collapsing buildings. Thats how they died.

I agree. I keep repeating myself, but all I am saying is that it might be possible that those conspiracy theorists might be right. You can't say for 100% sure that they are wrong. There is nothing bad about that, in a twisted way I would like that they are all wrong. The attack was sick enough on itself, we might agree on that?

? Dude. You have issues with me I can't even compete with. First you bomb me PM because I was derailing your thread and what not and now I am delusional for saying what I just did? Seriously? haha
you confuse your inability to judge the validity of arguments as thinking all arguments are valid. so you speak a lot while contributing very little to technical discussions.
and it does matter if you spell Al-Qaeda as El Quida. if you don't care about correctness, you probably should not be commenting in threads like this.
and conspiracy theories cannot be proven wrong.

Please stop acting like you are a grown up when you make comments like this
Snappie and Acomb joining forces is something wonderful imo. with their incredible powers of delusion combined, anything is possible.
"reality? rationality? pshaw. that's just like, your opinion man. if it feels right, just do it, man. just feel it. that's real. don't you see? don't you get it?"
+1 for Acomb and Snappie podcast.
you are acting childish. very, very childish. No matter how you think you are open minded. No matter how good you think you can debate. Your acting like a little boy.
So I am really not that interested anymore in having a debate with you. Neither trough PM when you start whining again about derailing your favorite thread about low carb to get rid of your ugly ass skin, or in a discussion on this forum.
We can talk again when you matured. When you have seen some stuff which didn't happen only on the internet. When you really met some people, when you really read some books, when you travelled. Everything that pretty much gets you out of your dungeon into the real world where the things actually happen.
Till then.

Oh brilliant, the 'global warming swindle'. Two anti science piles of conspiracy rubbish in one thread? Ace.
LOL
I knew Pope Gore's religous followers would come out. Believers blindly follow without doubt.
Remember my prediction above. We will be heading towards the Ice Age before Global Warming even comes close to destroying the earth. In the 70's, this scare (Ice Age) was also predicted (Time Cover story). They just keep changing it.
Pope Gore predicted the end of the world in Jan 2016. BS....always was a BS scam to scare everyone. lol

Can you name an internationally or nationally recognized scientific body that rejects the idea that there is global warming and that humans are a major cause of it?

Watch that movie. It made me a huge skeptic.
Here is the thing. Scientists that speak up get death threats, lose their jobs, etc. It is like saying there is no god in the Catholic church (or any other religion)
The main thing behind the cult........if you are doing a study on earthworms (pick your thesis).....all you have to do is say....I am studying the correlation between blahblahblah and GlobalWarming. Instant money.
I posted the video that impacted my thinking on the big scare. To me, it is just like the Y2K scare. Remember that? Lot's of people got rich off of it. I never believed that either. Laughed at the hotshot scaring everyone at our company. Boy, was he embarrassed. Planes were supposed to fall out of the sky. Yeah, right.
====
EDIT: Apologies for the derail. I was just having fun with the conspiracy talk. As much as people what to say it is a majority belief in GW, it is far from that. Not even close.
......... I don't mind starting another thread later on this, but let's not disrupt this other theme. Here is the URL again. I will pick this up later, outside this thread. No problem.
