Has anyone ever tried a high fat high bourbon diet? I like it a lot right now but I'm finding my results are less than impressive.

Btw isn't 350g/day of protein getting near levels where... uhhh... I don't remember what it is but something can't process it quickly enough, the liver?

I've been eating a paleo type diet mostly unintentionally for the last few months. I don't see much difference, even with working out and having an active job. Only that I have to eat every meal. If I skip one, I crash pretty hard. And my stomach really doesn't like processed sugar anymore.

Day 4 of no carbs, feeling pretty light headed, I have had a bad stomach, strange taste in my mouth, is this the signs im heading towards keto? What should I do after this..?

Yea you are going keto. You have to drink a lot of water, like 10 glasses a day or you will start to feel pretty shitty and you will smell like chemicals. If you go another day or two you will get over the hump- this is the worst part, it goes away.

I've eaten so far tuna, LOTS of samgapsal cooked in butter, 10 fried eggs, lots of black pepper, lemon juice squeezed onto 4 chicken breasts and peppercorn, about 50ml of ketchup on the eggs. Water with Apple Cider Vinegar. Multi vitamin. Some nuts and raisins. That's it. Seems ok right?

it would seem very hard to "unintentionally" do paleo. are you on a nature preserve hunting your own game? can you describe in your own words what paleo eating is?


It's unintentional in that I don't skip buying potatoes because of my diet, I do it because I'm too lazy to cook potatoes, and don't buy the combo meal at a fast food place. Ditto rice and pasta. I moved here 4months ago and don't have a decent pizza place nearby.
I eat mostly meat, cut out potato, pasta, pizza, and rice. I still eat bread, found some that's 12carbs/slice which seems like it's the low end for bread, on sandwiches and I drink milk. Milk sugar is the only sugar I ingest, no more soda or candy/sweet stuff. I don't count my intake but I estimate I'm at roughly 2:1 protein:carbs.

eat more fat. MORE FAT. stop picking just the lean meats.

and you can only crash if your blood sugar shoots up. you might unintentionally be eating too much potato/beans/veggies/fruits/dressing w/ HFCS on your unintentional paleo diet.

that's not even close to paleo, and not even LCHF.

drink more water and take in more salt. your body will dump a lot of water weight when you cut the carbs quickly.

I mostly eat burgers, microwaveable chicken, and wings/chicken sandwiches so I don't think I'm just eating lean meat. I don't eat any beans, veggies, side salad, or HFCS (everything here is advertised as no HFCS). I occasionally eat an apple (once every few days).
Maybe crash is not the right word. My brain stops working and my head feels full of cotton.

A couple things

1) I fucking hate BMI. It's awful. I'm 5'9" 175# with reasonably visible abs and I'm considered overweight.
2) Unless you weigh like 300#, I don't see any good reason to eat 350g protein/day.


BMI is a very good tool when applied to a population and not to an individual. Comparing BMI between countries for instance makes a lot of sense.
