Hey guys,
I have never been a member on any other poker site besides DC. How do they do in comparison with DC.
Has anyone ever been a member of any of these sites, what are the pros and cons?
PokerVT - I've heard this site is more of a tournament site also aimed towards the beginners.
bluefirepoker - I've heard that this site is more for advanced players. Also the pricing is a lot higher than DC.
dragthebar - Unfamiliar with this site. Just know that some of the people I have got books from are on their coaching team.
Is it worth trying multiple sites or is it better sticking with DC for now? (I am still playing micros)
Just curious to know. Would love to hear pros/cons and maybe a little comparison.
Thanks.

I tried grinderschool for a little bit. Not a terrible site, great value for microstakes players. The setup of the site was just a little too unorganized for me, but for 10 bucks a month for microstakes players, it isn't horrible (not sure how much it was to unlock the content for any of the higher stakes)

HI,
I ve try Drag the bar amd it has a very good section for SNG's (stt), worth seeing, and also has a couple of series for NL2 and NL5 of a coach who has huge profits for this levels.
Card runners is also a nice option, i prefer DC though.
If you are playing stt's you should check DTB, being on DC an DTB has been very useful for me.
Have a nice day

Also its mostly random sweats too instead of a series based approach
That's been my exact problem with sites other than this one. There's no rhyme or reason, no video descriptions or any seeming goals, just a bunch of random videos. Of course, everyone's heard about Cardrunners. I've heard good things about dragthebar too. If you can get a free trial, I'd say check them out. To me each poker site is supplementing what you learn at other poker sites, it's just a matter of which one's style appeals to you the most

I would say that one of the best things about DC relative to other sites are the forums and the community. The coaches participate a lot & I really have learned a lot from reading commentary on hands etc. The community is also generally more friendly than other places.
The danger for beginning players is thinking there is some holy grail (book, video, other training site, super-seekrit ebook, coach etc) that's going to give you the secret sauce and turn you into a winning player, whereas really all the info you need to beat the micros you probably already have, and the key is just avoiding really huge errors and getting to the point where you're putting the info you already have into practise on a consistent basis.

I agree, this site has a lot better of a community than most. The outreach from the DC staff is great, and the players are nice, if not sarcastic (not a bad thing lol).
I think we've all looked for that holy grail at some point and time in our poker history. The good news is, it's real!!!! The bad news is it's pain and suffering and learning from that agony... Who wants the holy grail now?

When I had a TFPT account on cardrunners before FTP went busto I wasn't really that impressed with the content. Like others have said it was mostly just sweat videos and "leak finders" rather than directed learning on specific topics. What series they did make seemed to take months between videos being released because slots would get spammed with the aforementioned leak finders etc.

2-CR-
3-Bluefire
4-Leggo poker and Drag the bar and Poker VT all rank same here IMO.
5- Pokerstrategy.com
6-TourneyPokerEdge

Hate sites full of sweat videos, like I care how bad others play?
Like really?
Maybe sweats of half decent regs would be worth watchnig but even still,
DC ranks number one overall IMO, then \cardrunners, then I would put Bluefire drag the bar leggo poker all in the same 3 spot.
Then Pokerstrategy.com and also TourneyPokeredge, 4 spots.
DC for life yo!

DC is the only site where video producers comment on their videos and questions in the forums. I always keep coming back to DC after trying others so that says alot IMO. Only gripe about DC is they have so many great video producers and you can go a long time without getting videos from them.

I've been a member at CR, DTB, and here.
CR was over two years ago, DC was a huge improvement for me, but like I say that was two years ago, so my impression is out of date.
DTB has a very good group of LHE coaches (GiantBuddha, La Peste, Hood, not as familiar with the others), but the forum is currently pretty dead post BF. I haven't been a subscriber there since Hood became a coach (thought about renewing for a month just to see his vids, but didn't get around to it), but thought well of both GB's and La Peste's videos. The PLO forum was always pretty dead, and the content doesn't come anywhere close to the content here. I don't have any experience with the NLHE/MTT forums/content.
Bluefire and Leggo are the only other sites I'm still kinda curious about, but I don't feel any burning need/desire to try them out (partly because I play a lot of limit games, which they don't have a lot of/any content in). For microstakes/moving up from microstakes, I really don't think there's any need to join another site (though for small/mid stakes nlhe I hear very good things about Bluefire).
I'd also suggest watching The Haj School here. imo there's so much good content here, and it's so time consuming to actually digest all the content, that I'd think a microstakes member of DC would actually be -Ev to join another site with that much more content. Small stakes might be different.

I think PokerStrategy has a huge amount of resources for players. They use a pretty wide range of teaching methods. It's pretty well organized and they don't just limit it to videos. They have a lot of written material which some people find easier to learn from. It can be pretty expensive for US players to join though. The top package they offer, Diamond, is about $4K a year.
