One part that really bothers me is the way they name new bills. This is called the "Stop Online Piracy Act", so if I say I'm against it it paints me as someone who is pro-piracy.

Completely inappropriate way to stage the discussion and really clouds people's ability to even debate things in good faith when you're effectively demonizing one side and making the other side look like a saint.

I actually spent a summer in Canada and loved it! Not so sure about the winters though....

Rob, what should be included in a message like this? I'd say about 99% of my friends on Facebook are Canadian, so I wouldn't be really alerting any Americans. What would you suggest?

That's some serious stuff you people to the south are dealing with. Best of luck with that. I really hope that doesn't pass. No doubt we would soon follow suit.

I'd probably tailor my message to say "if you have friends or family who are American, please check this out" - general awareness and pressure from both external and internal resources certainly can't help, and this will certainly have an impact worldwide.
