The U.S. House of Representatives’ Subcommittee for Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade will hold a hearing on Internet gaming on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. So, let's get to work!

- Like and make pro-poker comments on Subcommittee Chairwoman Mary Bono Mack's (R-CA) Facebook post HERE (you don't have to like the main non-poker post to do so).
- Like the pro-poker posts on Vice Chair Marsha Blackburn's (R-TN) Facebook walls HERE and HERE (she has two separate Facebook pages). Then, go HERE and HERE to make and like pro-poker posts.

Please reply in this thread with posted, done, etc. to encourage others to participate. The past 51 actions have generated triple-digit participation, so let's keep it growing. Thanks!

======================

If you wish to do more today, let's reach out to the rest of the subcommittee with respectful requests for them to support poker at the 10/25 hearing.

Done with today's plan but will be doing the extra stuff throughout the day.

Let's make some of our posts to the subcommittee members focus on the safety issues around internet gambling, since that is what the hearing is about.

As an example, I wrote this on BonoMack's & Blackburn's pages:

Tuesday’s hearing on Internet gaming is long overdue. Millions of Americans have been gambling online at foreign sites for more than a decade. We need regulations so problem gamblers have stop limits in place, people too young to vote can't gamble online, and the players and sites themselves cannot commit fraud. Thanks for hearing this important issue. I, personally, do not support blanket online gambling. I do, however, STRONGLY support H.R.2366 and online poker.

I think it's important to tailor our message to the people we're contacting. The super committee members need to hear a message about jobs and revenues. But this commerce subcommittee needs to hear a message about safety issues and regulation.

We're poker players. We adjust. Grin

Done for today.

Also called Rep. McKinley's DC office; his staff didn't seem to know anything about online poker or its issues, so I was happy to educate them.

Everyone, I just found an article that we should be citing in our FB discussion comments. Even Donald Trump believes online poker would be a great idea!

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-10-19/trump-teams-with-avenue-s-lasry-to-pursue-online-gaming-venture.html

This is an example post of how I used this article in a persuasive argument:

Another thing we can do is "+1" all pro poker articles that have a +1 button.
