I think the distinction between a multi month membership and a monthly one is bollocks and demeaning.
What about people that have been members for a long time, but pay monthly?
For instance, person 1 member for more than a year, person 2, been on 4 months, but with a multi month membership.
Person one continues his subscription month after month, person 2 buggers off after 6 months.
In my eyes, that's not fair.
Discrimination I would even say.
Person 2 got way more out of it for the same price, while person one, should have canceled IMO.
And no, I don't have any interest in the podcasts, never had.
Yes, I'm a single month paying member who has been here for a while.
DC has, in the last 6 or so months, not been the only training site that I'm a paid member on anymore.
And yes, I'm one of those people who has seriously been considering canceling my subscription post BF too, so things like that do push me away too.
Began listening to a few over the months, never thought they were applicable to me or even that interesting for me, just a nice thing around that made DC interesting to be on and keep paying.
The same with watching an old series that probably has little real value when you already have new ones around.
For instance, "Vandweller" and his "Real life micro SNG grinder", although the basic series was great in its time, now it has completely been superseded by others, more up to date, some even here on DC, making the series more of entertainment value than anything else.
You don't need it at all, but there are little things like this on DC that keep you forking out money.
Though post BF the climate here has changed in my view, this being also one of those things that makes it less likely to stay.
Now there are in my opinion more of those "high entertainment value, low real life poker value" series. One can only hope this changes soon.
Not to say that DC is the only training site that has the same happening.
Fact of the matter is that with the Americans gone from the normal "grinder scene" and most of them not moving to Canada or anywhere else in the world, the outlook is bleak to say the least.
What's next? Oh, we made a nice powerpoint slide show of something in a video, but you have to be a multi-month subscriber otherwise it's another 2,5$.
Low quality downloadable an extra 2,5$ per season?
Multi-month subscribers get everything in color?
"We signed "name of coach" in the past, but he has his own website and was going to do something funky on there like post his new video's there first and then only later put them on DC. He does get paid for it by your subscriptions, and no, we do not only pay him in a percentage of the multi month subscribers, it's a fixed sum that comes from all, but now if you're not a 5 year recurring subscriber you have to pay "x" amount extra to watch it." How fair does that sound?
Is this a precedent of things to come?
Per coach differences?
Half awake rambling done. No offense meant to any fainthearted ones out there.
