I kind a agree with Snappie here, I've not renewd my subscribtion for a while, been solely a HU player, this site has very little to offer me nowadays, it seems that coaches really don't try to teach anything with their videos and the HU videos are basicly random matches(not at the stakes they usually play not against good opponents, unlesss other instructos and then its kind a lame) where they commentate on what they are doing and are not really giving their in depth reasoning for things.and there's allmost no HUPLO videos here.

redoing the tags and standardizing them more would be nice. and btw to your stop and go zero tags, that is different now i bet, omgclaydols 180 man vid went over that in ep 3 and 4
Not according to the tag cloud! And bear in mind the tag cloud is the best index into the video library here.
There are some real LOL moments there. Check out:
cbet 1
cbetting 4
continuation betting 4
Finish those 9, and there's nothing more at DC to teach you about cbetting. Honest!
The fact is, the cloud could be updated every day (since there's a new video every day). A monolithic project like Mount Robusto seems the wrong model for updating the tag cloud. And to be honest, the tags could be time links into videos rather than simply to the "page" of the video. Or was that the plan originally?

Pretty sure the original idea was that "tag cloud" would be organized so it would be useful and one of those aspects would have been that they would be time links.AFAIK mt. robosto wasn't THE tag cloud people are posting here.

it does not need to be only "theory based" content on 1 subject. The most important point for me: hour is too long, 8 episodes is too much
you don't have to watch an hour long video all at once. Just break it up.

yes but even then its not always going to be great when you do that, bc your making the situation fit the thinking you had in mind, i think you will often get much better thinking and debates from actual real spots. At least from my experience when i have tried to do this in talking a spot with someone, it felt like when i do that it was a very idealized spot bc very little was left to "unknown" so if we do that it kinda steers us to the answer we started with and built the spot around. I think its backwards to some extent bc its harder to recreate the actual in game thinking then when there is little left to allow of anything else to be valid
Galfond pretty much uses mostly made up hands in his philosophy vids, and those are great, so I don't think that would be a problem.

I have been a member for just a short while but as a "newcomer" here is a short list of things I like and things I would like to see implemented:
Likes:
- Idea of video series
- website layout
- how well coaches respond to videos
- how knowledgeable the coaches are, DC shorts
- user friendly simplicity design
- podcasts (wish there could be more with the pros here)
- things like the blueprint series (fun to hear about the pros; makes watching their videos that much more entertaining as I feel like I know them personally more)
Things I would like to see implemented:
- videos in series cut to </= 45 mins (hard to keep full attention/completely mindful for an hour straight - I know you watch parts at a time, but like a movie it sucks to stop in the middle
)
- Perhaps a new tab titled "articles", and have pros create more short articles discussing theory (similar to blog posts) as a semi-replacement for videos
- perhaps challenges/reward or something for 1 free lesson with a pro like the 7 day free trial concept (cool idea, but I know $$$ is important; hard to afford even the cheapest lessons)

I think the "problem" with the 8 episode series is partly the fact that there is a lack of diversity. It feels like the series are on a template something like:
1 PLO
1 Limit game
1 MTT
1 6max NL (alternate theory/live play, alternate midstakes/small stakes)
1 FR NL (alternate live play/theory opposite to 6max)
1 left field (blueprint, pokersense, Math Attacks)
(That's pretty simplistic/flat out not right). What that means is that if a season DOESN"T have a particular niche covered, the guys that are jonesing are out of luck for 2 months.
What should you do? Well, I have 3 suggestions:
1. you could either go for inter-cutting two series for a 16 weeks season
2. You could have a slot for "rand" with a popularity contest for the subject
3. You could have a slot for something thematically linked. I have a few ideas for this:
A "DC Dictionary". This would not address the concern but I think the idea is cool.
B: "Reading Souls/Crushing Souls": 1-2 episodes from a series of coaches illustrating an idea that isn't big enough for a series. Great way to blood new coaches. Use the forums to ask for themes. Maybe exploit a specific set of stats, or a read. If you go over 2 episodes, one could explain the theory, and another show it in action via hand replayer.
C: Analyst: different coach each week looking at one hand in serious depth, using whatever software/spreadsheets he/she likes. Maybe state a gut-decision at the start, and "calculate" whether it is correct.

Hey guys,
There's a lot of good feedback in here, especially re: content organization. I can't say that I disagree at all with those comments (how videos are tagged/etc). We had initially implemented a pretty large-scale refactor for how all of our content would be organized and displayed, but Black Friday put a huge hit in our development budget and we had to temporarily shelve a lot of our projects. Since then, I've been teaching myself Rails (the language our site is programmed in) in order to pitch in and try to help out in areas like this.
The "tag cloud" is a plugin that we use that combines tags from videos, articles, and blogs. We know it's borderline useless for finding content - it was really never meant to do that on the scale that we are asking it to - but it's one of the pieces of the site that is still around from when we started. Refactoring into something useful isn't a simple task, but it's something that I've set as a goal, both for me and DC.
That said - we're a very small team nowadays, and everyone who works for DC wears multiple hats, which means that we aren't able to sit down and focus on one specific feature for a week or two. The way the /videos page is organized and laid out is most certainly something that will be changed, but it's unfortunately something we can't provide a timeline for.
I hope you all understand that we do care an immense amount, and that there's nothing but
from us when it comes to this place. Things have been tough for everyone since Black Friday, and we're no exception, but we're doing our best to bounce back and come out of this stronger than ever.

Im not exactly sure. But some want more content available and some feel they have paid for a few months membership with little content in return.
So why not take a coach and a member, do a video review (Or hh review or whatever) together, record the session and make a series out of it. Similar to that of coaching kristy, but with different people each day???
Just throwing suggestions out there...

you mean King for a day ?
There are 4 series of that already, I mentioned it to sthief that it would be nice to keep going.
I would prefer King for a day to be an ongoing series with various coaches, released week after week
