While I agree the "work load" seems ridiculous, given all of those WoW addicts you see at a young age I'm willing to bet an obsessed teenager could probably come pretty close to that (winnings aside)

I agree with you. No doubt this guy spent loads of hours studying up strat posts on everyone and learning tons about poker, I just don't think he can do that + grind 30 euro into 1.6 + attend school, all in one year. He has been at this since he was like 15 years old and made it up to SSNL at the very least before working his way into the HSNL community a little over a year ago. That much I'm confident about... plus fairly confident the guy is a liar, cheat, and scammer ![]()
idk, when I was in high school (it was a pretty good one, but not THAT great), I was in AP classes etc, and I can confidently say that if I had found poker back then I could have easily put in 50 hours a week to poker. I pretty much just used to go to school, basketball practice, then come home and sleep, then go out at night. On days where I had games, I would come home, sleep for an hour, then had to be at the gym, and pretty much never did any hw or studying after a game. So I basically put very little time into school outside of actual school hours and I still had a pretty good gpa. If I didnt play sports I could have easily came home and worked on poker from 3:30 to 9:30 every day, and for like 10 hours on weekends. I guess it depends on how tough his school is, but especially if he wasn't anal about getting a 4.0 he could definitely have had the time to dedicate to poker.

easy peasy. Look at all the school age progamers

Bear in mind that everything he's claimed was false or hasn't been confirmed. No scamming uncle, no house in Hawaii, can't produce hand histories or a HEM db. Doesn't take that long to lie on forums.

Stop it. Joe just washed this forum. You're going to get it all wrinkled!
Last night I came home early from a winning poker session. Couldn't sleep because I am used to playing until the early morning hours. I had not received any updates for a while from the
"I am Jose..Port.Poker.Prodigy....." thread on 2+2. I figured the thread had finally been locked, so I did a search....and WOW! The lid totally came off of the whole scam.
I have a few different feelings about the whole "PPP" gig:
Vindicated: As soon as I had read the first big post from Girah, I knew something was not right. It sounded great. Made a lot of people (including myself) believe it was possible to make it big in poker. Heck, a 18 year old can do it, so can I, right?
But something just wasn't right. The biggest tell for me was that the English was just too good.
We soon learned that DiH in fact did "re-write" a lot of Girah's postings.
I do have to admit that when I saw the Girah video-interview, I changed my mind and became more of a fan.
Happy: I am glad the scumbag got busted before he did more stealing and scamming. Hero to Zero.
Sad: Such a bummer to see someone like DiH get caught up in this. But he led the fanfare for Girah, and lied too many times. Who knows if the rabbit-hole goes deeper. I do not think so, but would not be surprised either.
I enjoyed DiH's videos, and really enjoyed his writing ability. Not many people can keep me on
the edge of my seat like he did with his blogs and stories.
One prediction: I do not believe he can walk away from poker forever. Too much easy money for him (from what I understand).
Amazement:
1. Girah is only 18. What a scam-artist. He scammed 80% of the online poker community.
Can a leopard change its spots? Would be interesting to find out where his life goes from here.
2. DiH is only 21? That surprised me. His writing is excellent, and apparently his poker skills are exceptional.
Will be interesting to see his life path (career wise) after this.
Shocked? No. I was suspicious at the start. There were a couple of big tells.
What I would like to see: I would love to hear/see Vanessa do the interview with DiH.
Apparently, there is some kind of trust (by DiH) for Vanessa to do the interview.
Regardless of "history", he must think that Vanessa will give him a fair interview (albeit not easy).
I laughed when I read AEJones offering to do the interview. That would be suicide for DiH.
AeJones is one of the most obnoxious guys I have read/heard -- albeit VERY entertaining and funny sometimes.
@Vanessa Maybe it would be good to do the interview after things have calmed down (it's been about a month now, right).
For sure, it would be a guaranteed home-run interview that anyone would like to have.
You seem to have his trust somewhat, and I do not think anyone doubts that you would be hard-hitting and fair. Call it lawyer practice (interrogation) .
