Still does, once every 6 months and I think the top VIP levels get to do it once per month also.
When a new name appears with a ton of money playing nosebleeds and crushing it's going to be obvious it's whoever the current phenom happens to be. For those scummy enough it's pretty much the holy grail to not change your own name, but access a name that other regs think is weaker.
I would like to know what everyone's over under is % wise of how many people in the online community have multi-accounted? I think people are really overreacting to the situation as a whole. I am not guilty of this, but at the same time, don't give a $&*! if someone else does. The only issue I have with this whole situation is live sweating someone to gain access to hole cards. That's pretty terrible IMO, but come on people...don't be that ignorant to let someone view your cards while playing. I don't care if you know them or not, it's just not a +EV play. I'm also surprised that the people cheated didn't get some kind of backlash from everyone seeing how weren't they just as shady getting live coaching while in-game?
Also, I think it's funny when people say we should ban people from the online community that get caught doing this, because how is that possible? All DiH or JM has to do is create another 2+2 account/online poker SN and they're back in the game mingling with the rest of us and nobody is the wiser. Are they able to do the same things like coaching or be a site pro? No. But when you're making that much $$$ playing HSNL, does it really matter anyway?
This scandal is far less than I suspected it would be when it first broke.
Girah is a confirmed scumbag/liar/cheater, this didn't surprise me at all. His story never added up to me, especially if you compare it to that of Blah.
DIH & JM confirmed as shady as HSNL itself. I've seen videos where one HSNLer not only sweats the other, but where they actually swap the mouse and sweat each other on a single account in the middle of a session.
This sort of thing has been considered a gray area for years and pretty much accepted. Now all of a sudden it's so evil that you might have to pay back the players that aren't as good?
The issues at hand are far larger than Jungle or IFS or anyone like that. It belongs in the discussion of regulated poker, but until clear right/wrong standards are established, you have to give a little leeway to people. I don't think players should be banned from the community because they pushed the ethical envelope.
The time is right to begin thinking about how to bring DIH back to DC, IMO.

Will never happen, unfortunately.
Having brought IFS into the thread, I ought to point out that his heinous crime appears to be that he didn't join the lynch-mob in NVG while Swedish.

To me, DiH's image isn't tarnished because of multi-accounting; it was the attempted cover up after the fact. He denied things until cornered, then said he "misspoke". He admitted to things he didn't do. He blamed people for thinking he is a liar just because he lied about a few things for reasons he felt were justified.
As a member, I feel he's not someone I'd want associated with this community. Good coach or not, he is now damaged goods.
Can you imagine the field day 2p2 would have with DC if they bring DiH back on as a coach?

Yeah while I think that it's a shame to not have DiH at DC.. the shame I refer to is the shame that he's turned out not to be trustworthy...
So it's a shame... not to not have him... but not to want him.

I think that the multiaccounting is pretty tarnishing as well, tbh, but maybe i'm naive about the state of higher stakes games. I do agree that, had he confessed up front, there would have been a scandal, he would probably of been cut from CR, but it would all have been less about him and he would have retained a position from which to repair his reputation over time. As it is, that is hard to see happening, if not impossible. I think the dishonesty and the arrogance have forfeited the right to a position as a teacher in the industry (but I am not a fee paying DSC member, fwiw).
I think the whole thing reads like some greek tragedy - DiH is brought down by the way that his own arrogance and self regard allow Girah to trick him into a growing web of borderline/across the line behaviours, and the lies which then follow.

nicely put
I'm willing to bet 99% of people who "coach" or are named players have accounts they keep to themselves, you'd be retarded not to after having put yourself out there for the community to recognize. And honestly can you blame them when they've been "nice enough" to tell you how they think about poker or nobody will give them any action on accounts they've used in videos?
As an aside, 2p2 are scum for jumping on IFS's nuts, I mean WTF at attacking the guy that got scammed because he bought into "Girah." Ofcourse he would've had to have believed in and/or supported him in order to ask him for coaching in the first place, so it's a foregone conclusion. And fuck the "I knew it all along people" too, every one is a god damn psychic in retrospect and it doesn't mean shit unless you voiced your opinion before it all went down.

If you're betting that 99% of coaches multiaccount on networks that don't allow it, I'd take that bet. If you're saying coaches have accounts they don't tell people about, I think that's both highly likely and completely unrelated.

NVGers gonna NVG.
I think you guys are right in a sense that DC couldn't bring DIH back just because of the backlash, and we'd all feel pretty crummy about him at them moment. However, I said begin to think about... meaning at some point in the future. There's no way DIH is total crap from here on out. Life is a looong time and people's memories are very short in relation. Couple those facts with the fact that his biggest crime of all is trying to cover for JM, and in my mind, it's not beyond comprehension that he could be back someday in the poker world as a somewhat respectable player. People do come back from PR disasters, but it usually takes a few years.
I doubt 99% of coaches have multiple accounts. There's a percentage greater than 0, but it's far less than 99.

I did allude that I had doubts about Girah before the scandal, but I wouldn't classify myself as a knew it all along.... who would know that this guy would literally steal money from people? What I doubted (and still doubt) is his entire story, as told. There's no way this dude took $30 and turned it into $2 mill in like 18 months (let alone a year), all while he's also studying the posts of pretty much every HSNLer (which is true), watching all the videos, railing all the HSHUNL matches, AND going to school. I'm going to say this cannot be done by one's self. I did express this opinion in a PM to Rangey before the scandal and I stand by it. The following is an excerpt of a PM I sent to Rangey to give him encouragement because pretty much everyone crapped on him for his views. It was sent to him July 15th:
I've been meaning to send you a PM.
I appreciate your takes on the whole situation. I don't really know enough to make up my mind about it, but I will say it's obvious to me that something just doesn't smell right with this guy.
On the one hand, it seems far fetched to think this whole thing was a level, but on the other, it just seems so fishy.
So not a "knew it all along" type of thought, but still suspect that his story does not add up as presented. Even if he can prove he has $600k in the bank, it's obvious to me that he misrepresented himself by a wide margin.
