My respect to 2four, excellent replies in HU forum and nice videos.
Now, Weren´t tuesdays announced as Duel Videos? If I should open a thread about this in another place please let me know, but I thought Tuesdays were promoted differently in the past. Kinda dissapointed, not for this material, but for what was promised.
If I am mistaken about the scheduled program, please accept my apologyzes in advance.
Tuesday is generally Heads Up day for content on DC. Feel free to post in the season lineup thread http://www.deucescracked.com/forums/13-Videos/topics/392931-Season-3-Lineup-2011 or just in the R&D forum: http://www.deucescracked.com/forums/7-Research-and-Development-
Are you looking specifically for live play videos?
I didn't have time last week to watch much of the first part, but I like the idea for the checklist you have.
In fact, the checklist in this video is well done. You're really focusing on adjustments and making a plan vs Villain and you have it written down on the side of the screen. This seems to me to be an excellent learning tool. While not really applicable to using in the middle of a match, just working through this, repeatedly, will make it happen IMO. Repetition is the mother of all learning. So, keep doing it and the students will eventually start to get it.
One thing about the min raising strategy. I think you want to have some good post flop reads on villain. One of the bigger points of it is to be able to call wider and play your position more, but if hero doesn't really know what to do vs an opponent post flop, it's probably not the best adjustment (as discussed). Also, when I use the min raise strategy in ring games (I don't play HU yet), I'm doing it vs a guy that 3bets a lot, but one that won't feel as comfortable widening his 3bet range vs me because if I'm going to reduce my PFR size, I'm opening up wider. Why min raise if you're still going to open 70%? Open 90+ IMO and force his adjustment, he won't like it.
But this guy 3bets more than 2/3rd of his continuation range which is like printing money if you can 4bet, IMO.
When villain checked the turn with Jx vs a Jxx flop check back, you said he was looking to bluff catch more. I thought that was an interesting take. I wouldn't have considered that he was trying to induce a bluff there and would have just figured he thought betting was too thin. Interesting how villain looks to take passive lines (even though hero is not polarized) post flop and yet takes aggro lines pre-flop.

24o- haven't gotten through the whole video yet, but this looks like this will be very good for illustrating information gathering and integration.
Some feedback: here you say, "there's a decent amount of cards he's going to shut down on." Earlier with the A8 on the J97dd you said something like "there's a decent amount of turn cards we can barrel on." I think it would be helpful if instead of just saying this, you say specifically what cards you think he might shut down on/we can barrel on and why, what some of our other options might be on future streets, etc.
I realize the focus of this video is more on the plan of attack than individual hands and board textures, so I don't know if you were intentionally being a bit more vague to get through the hands quicker or if it was just these 2 hands as I haven't gotten through the whole video, but I figured I would just give some feedback there.
really enjoying your work, keep it up man

Tuesdays are for HU, not necessarily Duels. Very often you will see Duels, but it was not intended to be a day dedicated strictly to that format, just HU in general.
If you'd like to see something different in the future, definitely post in the R&D forum. DC does a great job of responding to what their subscribers want. You can even post series ideas here:

This is one of the best videos I have watched in a very long time.
24o, this is a huge help, great vid. Thanks!
this is indeed a very good video
would like to thank 24o very much for doing this.
i generally have the most trouble with these kind of guys.
like in the other videos you have a very good way of explaining.
even tho i didnt play that well (was my first month back at HU after playing 6max for a few months)
feel like i gotto watch this 5 times because of all the info your giving.
the checklist is also a great way of putting things in perspective for me.
that will help me play my A game for a longer time
very glad that i send you this video, this will help me destroy some of the reg over there
really looking forward to the next HU video from you
im about to watch this 1 for the 3rd time with a pen and pad
thanks alot and please keep up the excellent work.
my game is finally getting to the point that i can adjust to most opponents
cheers
@2four & @Tecmo: Thxs for the replies. It says indeed "Duel" on the schedule.

In the A8o hand, if we check raise, we can barrel cards like any
, T, 8, A, Q, that either make our hand or make the board scary for him.
With 88, on T
6

It's going to be a bit tougher as we don't know how our opponent will be barreling in 3bet pots, so let's look at the range of options:
Sometimes he's going to be shutting down with value hands and bluffs on any
that comes when he doesn't have one himself.
Sometimes he's going to be shutting down with bluffs if he doesn't improve by pairing (which is usually going to be on broadway type cards) or getting there with a
.
Sometimes he's going to be barreling on blanks with both value hands and bluffs.
Sometimes he's check a hand better than ours without a scare card coming.
Since we aren't sure about what his plan is going to be and we do have a hand better than 2nd pair I think that it's worth calling a flop bet and seeing what action he takes on which turn cards.
Thanks for the feedback and kind words guys! ![]()
I am still looking for more user videos for future episodes and other comments on things that you'd like to see more of or less of in the series!
the 3bet hand with 88 on the T62hhh board, now that you explained it, it makes sense to call atleast the flop with better than 2nd pair
but atm of playing it looked like a bad spot because i didnt have a heart, and most regs on 50nl barrel the turn regardless of what card comes cause they put me on a draw when i flat the flop on this board

i would highly suggest any1 playing HU looking to improve his/her game to send a video.
myself i would like to see more matches vs regs and maniacs in HU vids
just because i feel that those vids have the best learning experience, and alot of though spots.
I love this video and the way of how you make your reads and the adjustment notes!
Very helpfully!
I'm looking forward to see more stuff like this!!!
