I concur. A good table at Merge seems to be around 25% Plrs/Flop. But what can you do?

That said, there are still soft spots and plenty of muppets, imo.

[quote]I disagree with pretty much every point that you make.
12. yes, it's easy to deposit with Western Union but I prefer to just use a credit card (no trip to your bank to get the cash, then trip to Western Union, and no $12 fee). I am not in love with the WU deposit option.

Want to take advantage of the rakeback opportunity, will probably use DC rakeback. But I have a couple of questions for those of you with more expereince here.

I see where WUOnline works well for deposits, someone else said something about CC which would work for me - is there a charge for either WU or CC deposits? And a CC deposit from the US will work just doing it thru Carbon? or do I need to use a processor (for which there must be a fee right?)

As for witdrawals - Ive read very littl about anyone actually getting $$$ back out...Some have gotten paper checks but they wouldnt cash at the bank.

Can anyone in the US wiuth experience on Carbon or Merge who has gotten $$$ back outplease clue me in as to how that works, ime rame, etc.

Thanks

CC's - usually won't work. May still be possible on some Merge skins but not Carbon
WU - $12 fee
Withdrawals- industry average is 30 calendar days.
EWallet- Usemywalllet is not a reliable method anymore. I take it you are US, so not any other ewallets for you really.

Some people have been able to use prepaid international visa gift cards, but that really is hit or miss.

Best option is WU. Very quick and easy.

As far as cash outs go, they are saying anywhere from 4-6 weeks right now.

Carbon has its own thread on 2P2 (internet poker forum) Most of your questions can be answered there. They also have a rep in the thread who tries to answer anything you may have concerns over.

I like Carbon so far. It is reg infested, but it is also probably the best we have left as a US player.

What is this? I have looked for it and it seems to be a white unicorn.
Typical responses:
Isnt Visa international?
You can use this outside the US.
HUH?

Granted I live in a bad area for this type of thing, but still. All the ones I find and Walgreens and other places are US Visa cards and infact are all the same brand just different pictures. Anyone know where to find them and how to know infact they are the right ones?

I think you should alert people to the fact that WITHDRAWAL TAKES 6-8 WEEKS, and thats if they don't decide to make you jump through additional hoops via their "verification process".
They claim this absurd delay is to protect their customers from online identity fraud. Personally, I don't appreciate when someone urinates on my head and then tells me it's raining.
I find it curious that they can process your deposit in about 60 seconds yet withdrawal takes 2 months. It should be obvious to anyone with an I.Q above a tree stump that they are intentionally making this process unnecessarily cumbersome to limit and discourage people from getting back their money.
There is a market right now of over a half a million poker players up for grabs to the first Poker Site able to provide them with a place to play. They are desperate for anyone who can fill the shoes of Poker Stars or Full Tilt. Well, here's a hint to Carbon Poker, although it should be obvious, making people wait for 2 months to withdraw their money is not the way to capture this market.

I have to take issue with just about everything you said.

Every poker site in existence has a verification process. At Carbon the process takes a little over a day and consists of little more than sending a copy of your driver's license. And yes identity fraud is a problem. I wouldn't join a site that didn't have a verification process.

Of course deposits are faster than withdrawals, the UIGEA affects money coming from a poker site that is cashed in the US, so the sites have hoops to jump through. The money going to a poker site is processed out of the reach of the DOJ. It is the Merge Network not Carbon that pays the players.

The withdrawal period does take too long but your contention that it takes 2 months is a little bit of an exageration. Currently, it generally takes about 5 weeks.

The Merge Network keeps the player's money in an escrow account so they only withdraw money in weekly packets to pay players. Your assumption that they limit withdrawals to discourage people from withdrawing is a bit silly considering that they allow player transfers so people can easily withdraw as much money as they want through the p2p forum at 2+2. Not all sites allow transfers; neither would Carbon if they were trying to hold on to it. I think that it is obvious that Merge is concerned about money being confiscated enroute considering over 90% of the players are from the US and that's something the DOJ has done on numerous occasion.

I was checking out cake as well. The number of 10NL tables for FR is very low and most of the players are very tight. You can't use a HUD on cake as far as I know which is a draw back.

the 10nl FR are not tight at all.theyre actually pretty fishy.the 20 nl fr tables are even fishier.u mustve just caught a bad night or choose ur table poorly.HUD DOES WORK ON CAKE.i didnt think it did until another DC member told me to reroute the directory manually for HEM2 to start reading the HH.and now my HEM2 HUD works just fine.

at FR NL10 everyone is 33VPIP or lower it seems, there are no fishes
and the HUSNGs are not soft, 9328 players online now at 10pm
is cake better or everleaf? maybe you can only make money on carbon if you are a highstakes player?

the hand strength display already raises the level of all the fishes

Cake Poker I believe is letting you use a HUD now because they have new owners. Also I think with Cake you can make online deposits straight into your account, however their minimum deposit is $500. Their support team is really good and answer your questions really fast.
