Just reading this now after seeing a friend of mine get in absolutely outstanding shape following taking it up.
For those that don't know, it advocates cutting grains from your diet almost entirely and eating heaps of vegetables, meat, fish, eggs and animal fats - the premise being, in short, that this is what the human body evolved to consume over millions of years (agriculture - and grains in particular - only being around for the last 10,000 or so).
Any DCers out there who have tried/ are following the "Primal Blueprint". Views?

.....
I lost 35 pounds in 3 months the first time around, I am 6'1 and went from 215 to 180. Now I am trying to see how lean I can get. I was 150 went I graduated high school in 2003, so I want to see how close I can get to that the second time through P90X.
You have to be kidding. 6'1" and aiming for 150lbs? Is that even healthy looking. Maybe for a fight weight-in....but then eating and hydrating like hell to get the weight back up. lol
180-190 is a good weight at 6'1" , with lean muscle (muscle being heavier than fat). Are you still feeling/looking fat at 180lbs? Why 150? Just curious.

did you notice that Mark Sisson is the annoying whiny guy at the end of the p90x dvds who comes on to sell their supplements, protein bars etc?
Sneakers I think you would be suprised how lean people can actually get. My friend who is about 5'9" has gone from 89kg and a bit of a fat bastard to 67kg and is in absolutely fantastic shape

Yeah, I am just curious. Personal goals are personal goals. I'm all for goals.
A friend of mine was lightweight WBC champion at 135lbs/61kg (5' 10 1/2") , but that was just to make the scales. He was definitely an anomaly in that weight-class for his height/reach. In fact, he started having trouble making weight at around age 27, and had to move up in weight-class. By the time they get in the ring, the lightweights are in the 140's (hydrating and eating). But my friend's normal walking around lean-weight was 170+ (5' 10 1/2").

I'm never going to get there, it is just what I weighed coming out of high school. I am not going to dehydrate myself or anything. I just want to see how low I can get my bodyfat pct. I am much more muscular now, I have a feeling I'm going to plateau/hit a wall at like 170.

How long has your friend been following the diet?
He has been on the diet for just under 2 months I think. For about 6 months prior he was eating healthily (according to conventional wisdom - whole wheat grains etc) and working really really hard at the gym (a couple of hours each day, circuits etc) - and to be fair was in decent shape and had lost a fair bit of weight.
He read this book, changed his diet and his exercise habits (by actually drastically reducing the amount he was doing), and the results he has had are just astonishing tbh.

something about the premise used here is off. all this talk about grok and how healthy, strong, perfect, enviable he was. but grok was a bum. he didn't do anything for hundred of thousands of years but simply survive. we started farming and eating grains and suddenly we're building cities, civilizations, roads, the scientific method, skyscrapers, and going to the moon.
