So as you may or may not know, I did some group coaching last winter and spring until the weather got really nice in Seattle and I wanted my weekends free (and I had to plan a wedding...). Well, it's late October now, and that means I can look forward to rain every weekend until next June Frown But the good news is that I'll now have lots of time to sit in front of my UV lamp and do some group coaching Smile

Having done the group coaching before, I think I'm going to structure the classes a bit differently this time based on what has worked well and not so well in the past.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

I'm looking for *four* students who are:

1) Winning players at 50NL (doesn't have to be 5ptbb/100, just a winner over a significant sample (i.e. not 25k hands) OR
2) currently playing 100NL who are
3) interested in participating with the other three students in the group outside of the context of lessons AND
4) have enough initiative to approach this course as an opportunity to ask questions of and get feedback from an experienced coach, rather than a product that will turn passive participants into 100NL crushers.

If you expect that you can just show up for two hours each week and go from a marginal 50NL winner to a 100NL crusher in three weeks, let me assure you you will not. I envision this course as a cheap starting point for you to build a relationship with me and several other poker peers. If all goes well, I expect that our group will continue doing sessions beyond the initial five.

I can't stress enough how important it is to spend a substantial amount of your poker time learning rather than playing. Guys who want to play 15 hours a week and spend two hours a week with me coaching are not going to get better. Guys who spend 7 hours a week talking poker with peers and reading deucescracked.com, get 2 hours of coaching and spend 10 hours playing are going to improve at a MUCH faster rate.

If you are willing to put in the time, I think this is the best coaching value out there for SSNL.

CONTENT:

10 hours of instructional time, broken into five weekly 2-hour group sessions. The sessions will consist of:
1) a video review of each student's play
2) Reviews of hand histories submitted by students beforehand that will serve as a jumping off point for discussing theory and logic.
3) You will submit your HH reviews ahead of time, and I will pick from the submissions the hands that I think will be the best to discuss as a group. I will also give you brief feedback on ALL of the hands you submit.
4) As a participant in the group, I will also offer you supplemental individual coaching at a discount ($50/hour), should you want it.

COST: $250

TIMES AND DATES:
1) We will meet each Saturday or Sunday in the late afternoon GMT.
2) The exact day will be determined based on the availability of those who reserve spots
3) The course will begin as soon as all spots are reserved.

SIGN-UP:

To sign up or for questions, contact me at sootedpower@deucescracked.com. I will ask for a $100 non-refundable deposit upfront, with the remaining $150 to be paid prior to the start of the course. Please understand that I cannot offer this course at this price without having the full number of students. So, I cannot provide refunds once the course has started and I can no longer fill your spot with someone else. HOWEVER, being sensitive to the fact that participants will be making a significant investment, here is how you can be sure you are going to get what your money's worth: sign up for an individual lesson with me at $75. Then, if you wish to sign up for the course, I'll knock $25 off your course fee.

this sounds like a sweet deal!

this:

For anyone who can't be fucked to read Sam's tl;dr post.

HE'S CHARGING 25/HR

25/HR

You'd be a retard to not take this up if you're looking for coaching without busting your roll.

(I did it 6months ago and now I crush imo)

What paymethods do you accept? Site transfer/moneybookers?(I'm a euro, so bank transfers would cost me extra)

I take site transfers, paypal and moneybookers. If you'd like to reserve a spot, send me a little about your poker background. If you're a good fit, I'll send you the payment info.

Finished the group whackem course couple months ago. It was a great experience, Matt & Steve were good, they cared about the group and took the process seriously. I like the group format.

This sounds like a good fit for me as I'm again in a little rut. Can't really afford the one on one coaching rates. This seems perfect.

My question/concern is the time of the lessons. I'm in the Asian time zone, but stay up late all the time. A good time for me would be couple hours before NFL football on Sunday. That'll be Sunday morning pacific, poker players are not known to get up early. Smile

What time did you have in mind for the sessions?

This sounds really interesting and I hope there will be more of these group coaching's on DC. Perhaps some coach could do them on certain subjects, like 3-betting, playing OOP etc.

The topic suggested that this was a SSNL group, but not sure if this one is for me though as I'm a NL100 Fullring player, and the sessions would need to be in Euro evening time (GMT 7 or later) so that my kids are in bed.
